Colorado Springs
Was the only good thing about living in Garden City for a year. I'd ditch town for the weekend a lot.

Minneapolis would be a good city to visit this time of year, within the 8 hour range.

Milwaukee is farther than that, or I'd whole heartedly recommend Milwaukee...I love that place.

Memphis is fun.  It's dirty and stuff, but fun.  Great food, good zoo (they have Pandas), Music scene.

Eureka Springs is an awesome hipster hiking foodie town.  Very pretty nature stuff, and B&B's and crap.

Minneapolis is a good pick...just went there in April though.  Milwaukee is also a good pick and underrated...considering that.

Late arrival might by Cincinnati .  Little over the 8 hour imposed driving limit.

Denver
Recently enjoyed a week in the Colorado Springs area/Denver. Only a few hours away from each other, fun little getaway

Having just moved back to Kansas from Milwaukee, I'd recommend.  I actually had to drive up there this weekend to take care of some business.  Depending on where in kc you are, it could be an 8-8.5 hr drive.  Summers in milwaukee are a delight.

This is quite a stunt to demonstrate distaste for MCI.

Check out this new Boeing 787-10. It dwarfs the 737 that's the size most of us fly.

Oh man, big train is an elbow room offender :frown:

It's not on purpose.  My shoulders are legit broader than 95% of the flights I'm on.  I am a shoulder squeezer though and am very aware of my issue and try and not infringe on people  :frown:

Sounds like you need to take advantage of Southwest's "Customer of Size" policy.

i realize you're humble bragging but tsa is testing biometric screening so i'm not sure how long clear's business model will last but since you get it free and there are those rare times when you're at a major airport that happens to have clear and tsa precheck happens to be longer than 5-10 minutes it might be elite?

I went through Pre-check in Denver at prime time on Sunday and it took about 120 seconds. Wichita took about 90 seconds but that was because I got chosen for some special screening where they wiped something on my phone.

Just applied for $50 NEXUS.  I'd wanted to wait until after I'd gotten a CSR or closer to when my precheck expires, but decided I didn't want to be the weak link on a quick trip in and out of canada.

Try to avoid using the precheck lane in kc, it's usually twice as slow as the plebian line, but other airports are built more efficiently and the precheck line is much quicker.
