Getting upgraded to d one on an intl flight is enough to make you weep tears of joy directly into your champ & caviar

 :crossfingers:

HNL->MSP in a couple months
What metal do they use for that route?

not really news but official is good.

good:
-all 4 islands served
-2 companion passes means the dave family may be making a couple trips in the next 20 months as long as they start flying late 2018
-directs to LAX from OMA so only one stop

bad:
-flying that long in coach on a 737 assuming they don't outfit those birds differently (they won't)

It's really going to suck if an engine throws a blade on that trip.

irl true story: mrs mocat and i were coming back from paris (using points) and i was silver medallion at the time. we had just sat down in economy comfort and a gate agent came up to us real serious like, "sorry guys [x-post!] we're going to have to move you" and i was all  :curse: because some DM had taken our seats, but then the agent started walking towards the front of the plane and i was like omgomgomg and i was all short of breath and my mouth was open like a total idiot. he points to two seats in delta one and asks if these will be ok. i just stared at them and couldn't say anything and mrs mocat was like yeah these will be great thanks. agent said they needed to bump 2 people up and we were the only pair with any status. i haven't experienced the birth of a child yet but i imagine that's what it's like.

Gonna be mad scrambles on southwest flights now with passengers trying to grab those non-window seats.

17A and 17F 14A / 14F :buh-bye:

Any window seat.  Really, just see if you can lay down in the aisle or stay in the bathroom the whole way.

children in car seats have to sit in the window seat. so, I'm good. lil girl sd is nervous though. but we've got 2 companion passes and 330k SW miles so she's going to have to roll the dice.

Seems like this window did exactly what it is required to do...

Quote from: 14CFR25.775(d)
The windshield and window panels must be capable of withstanding the maximum cabin pressure differential loads combined with critical aerodynamic pressure and temperature effects after any single failure in the installation or associated systems. It may be assumed that, after a single failure that is obvious to the flight crew, the cabin pressure differential is reduced from the maximum, in accordance with appropriate operating limitations, to allow continued safe flight of the airplane with a cabin pressure altitude of not more than 15,000 feet.

I think I've posted this before but a good southwest family travel protrip is to just have one person (me) get earlybird check in. So like right now I'm A35. Then just check in the wife and 12 kids whenever because they'll board with family boarding and meanwhile I've blocked off like 3 entire sections of the front and got the 4 car seats installed and they can just get on and sit down without us blocking off the entryway trying to get car seats in. doesn't flying with kids sound luxurious? wow.
