Yes, because people here are arguing that point.

A couple posters on phog.net were arguing that point, but Spracne didn't quote the full post.  You guys are just denying that he said it, which is kinda strange.

KU fans: now calling for people's jobs because they stutter sometimes

ku fans: only against bigotry when it benefits them (even if said Bigot didn't actually say anything bigoted)

I've heard the F word thrown around plenty in Lawrence bars. I'm not talking about eff

Oh, look... it's the guy who doesn't understand the difference between what a drunk college kid says at a bar and what a professional news anchor says on public television.

There you have it folks, homophobia is ok as long as you've had a few drinks and aren't on TV. Great ku education there.

A straw man, also known in the UK as an Aunt Sally, is a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position.  To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by replacing it with a superficially similar yet unequivalent proposition (the "straw man"), and to refute it, without ever having actually refuted the original position.  This technique has been used throughout history in polemical debate, particularly in arguments about highly charged, emotional issues. In those cases the false victory is often loudly or conspicuously celebrated.

Your "gayhawk" claim was already refuted a few pages ago. Now I'm just refuting your pseudo-homophobia witch hunt.

I think Daris would know a little bit more about the topic of speech and the way human ears perceive it than you or I would, so I trust Daris.

Is it harder to believe that a man who commonly calls them both KU and the Jayhawks would say Kayhawks than it is to believe that a man who has been on air for many years would just turn into a homophobe? To me it isn't.

i don't think it's strange at all to deny that he said something that he and everyone within earshot of him says that he didn't say. but then again i'm not a typical ku fan with a typical ku fan inferiority complex and chip on my shoulder the size of clinton lake. i'm just a casual observer w/ a little bit of knowledge and no dogs in the fight. i don't think he said it.

I get that MU being good in football has them feeling evtra super inferior but I haven't seen this type of insane anger before.

Its like they are as angry as they were happy when Wiggins signed.  This is literally bigger than the Orange Bowl

Yes, beems. We're total homophobes. The whole time while we were farm humping sheep, we were also derogatory towards homosexuals this whole time. :dubious:

KU fans are struggling to cope with a mediocre basketball team and are lashing out at prominent public figures who mistakenly combine "KU" and "Jayhawk."  sickening

I'm willing to accept that he might have said "Kayhawks."  If that's the case, he should just say he misspoke and move on.

I don't watch the news but somebody should watch and produce a list of the local sponsors and then we call start calling them. Heck, do the same thing with KK's show while we are all united motivated.

The phog is going to make them pay where it hurts!

They are all very united and motivated to take down Jack Harry.  But not to go to a home football game

Pretty strange considering ku fans can't afford things from Joslins Jewelry

So you guys really can't see how using the word "gay" in a derogatory or demeaning fashion might be harmful to someone who's gay?  Anyone who does it is basically saying that being gay is inferior, or beneath them.

That's not why ku fans are mad.

And lol at using the word in a derogatory or demeaning fashion.  So are ku'rs mad about ku being associated with "gay" or are other hypothetical gay people mad about being associated with ku?

goEMAW:  now endorsing gay slurs.

 :flush:

Gay slurs are terrible.  Do you know what is worse?  While a community of people are fighting to have the same rights as the rest of America, KU fans use their their battle as an excuse to carry out their personal vendettas against local television personalities.  Then they come up with bullshit stories about lipreading that are demonstrably false to prove their point.

To me, it sounds like he says Kayhawks in mispronouncing it.  Could he have said Gayhawks, sure, but anybody pretending to know definitively is full of crap.  For KU fans to make someone out to be a bigot because they think he doesn't like their team enough is stupid.  You are attacking a man's personal beliefs with no proof and vilifying him.  You are making a joke out of the term bigot and thus blurring lines between right and wrong.  Knock it off already, you are hurting the cause you pretend to be defending.

Yeah, there's no proof... other than the video and audio of him saying "gayhawks."
