Anyone seen one of the trucks yet? Supposed to be in Manhattan an hour ago...

I met two of the guys. Korilla BBQ is the one to find/support if you're in the MHK area. Sounds amazing.

Sweet.  About to go on a mission with some friends to find these places, hopefully at least one has started serving food tonight.

I don't know if they're all on the same schedule, but those two guys are starting at 9am tomorrow and going until 9pm, the doing, roughly, the same schedule on Sunday.

Not all of them yet, I did see this though:

RT @kassiecurran: @hodgepodgetruck will be at Kites in #Aggieville 12p to 9p Saturday. Special Feature: Behemoth Burger

I hope that doesn't mean they are just open Saturday, yesterday they said this.

the official word from @TylerFlorence is that the #greatfoodtrucks will start selling Friday night through Sunday.

I'm told there are also some 15 SUVs around town. That's the production/filming team. Treat them like MVPs this weekend as well. Some of the team was out filming the Konza and were stationed at other various locations around the Little Apple over the last two days or so. Hearing they have enjoyed Manhattan and the hospitality and that the production team and vendors cannot get over how cheap drinks are in Aggieville.

There will be a Vegan one at DU, and Korean BBQ is trying to get spotted on Moro or in the big parking lot behind Rusty's/Bluestem, but is having trouble getting cleared. Not sure about the others (besides the one by Kite's).

3 trucks are parked at the North side of city park, and the lines are ridiculously long.  There must be 50 people in each line.

So what happened was that yesterday they had a competition on Poyntz. The winner won a spot in Aggieville, and the rest had to do something else in order to sell their stuff. The winner was Sea Birds, the vegan place, and they got to set up next to Varney's. The other ones were not allowed to be in Aggieville, defined by 11th St. and 14th St., and Fremont and Bluemont. The show did this because they thought it would be fun to see how the teams would respond to being on their toes (by law, Manhattan is not allowed to have street vendors sell food, ESPECIALLY not in City Park). So, the whole premise of this episode was that each vehicle would not be able to set up long in one spot without being kicked out, but no one in City Park has been kicked out and it doesn't seem the city cares too much since Manhattan, KS will be feature on a Food Network show, not to mention one place got hooked up in the parking lot of Doughboy's (still Aggieville) and two got cleared to park in the MCC parking lots.

Sorry for the run-on sentence. Go enjoy a food truck if you so desire.

City of Manhattan was doing victory laps.  I hope the Aggieville Business Association/Chamber of Commerce morons that think food trucks are some scourge to their upstanding businesses will push for food trucks and pedestrian only traffic in the ville on weekends.

Don't hold your breath.  Tucks run the show.

The show choose to come to Manhattan because of our ordinances. They are really easy to get around if the city wants you to, and the city definitely wanted a national television show coming by. They showed how easy it was to get around the law, by asking the city for one spot next to Varney's. They could have just as easily asked for more spots if they desired.

But yeah, the production team is encouraging the city to be strict about the laws even the city doesn't care about doing it for one or two days, they just don't want street vendors to be here year-round.

it is anything but an elite town.  unless towns run by rough ridin' nazis are elite all of a sudden.
