Food trucks
« on: May 10, 2011, 11:04:04 AM »
Great idea or greatest idea? Love the taco trucks you find in KC, as well as the late night Jerusalem Cafe truck in Westport (GIGANTIC gyros)

BTW this is what made me want to post about food trucks

The mexican food vehicles in KC are unbeatable.  Have bought many a breakfast burritos out of the hatchback of a Honda on a lot of job sites.  Huevos con chorizo burrito for $2 that tastes more authentic than most restaurants and they drive right up to the job site.  Just fantastic.

Love when rubes like Fakeclams actually think that other cities are automatically better at everything than KC, simply because they're not KC.

sorry but the best food trucks in the nation ain't in KC, bub.  you dolts espousing the virtues of Jerusalem Cafe's truck in Westport slanging lungmeat gyros @ 2am would feel pretty stupid if you actually tried something from Kogi BBQ or the Grilled Cheese truck.

don't worry, i really wouldn't expect you hayseeds to understand.  carry on.

Manhattan will probably see the greatness of a food truck. No longer legal to run hotdog stands there now

Yeah but he's right on this one. Food trucks are a much bigger deal in bigger cities.

I cannot even fathom the sheer joy I would be exuding if it were 3am and I was leaving a bar completely trashed and saw a Grilled Cheese Truck.  I would probably think I was hallucinating or had died and was in heaven or something.  JFC.  And what a simple idea.  I mean, any rube can make a decent grilled cheese for like $0.30.

the Grilled Cheese truck and Kogi are so popular in LA that people follow them on twitter to find out where/when they're setting up shop so that they can get to the window before they sell out of grub, they're really popular out there.

I met two of the guys. Korilla BBQ is the one to find/support if you're in the MHK area. Sounds amazing.

Sweet.  About to go on a mission with some friends to find these places, hopefully at least one has started serving food tonight.
