With my marketing background and restaurant/bar expertise

Post your resume.

Being familiar with crap sandwiches isn't really restaurant expertise.

-1 year server at On the Border
-3 year server at Carlos O' Kellys
-1 year server at a steak restaurant in Garden City
-1 year server at Barleys
-Kstate grad in communications
-Sold, wrote, and produced commercials and marketing campaigns for 1240/1310 KIUL/KYUL in Garden City and 610 Sports in Kansas City for 4 years.
-Produced Western Kansas first High School Football magazine and sold all the advertising while writing for it at the same time.
-Future MBA grad (September 2012)  :excited:

which steak place, fanning?  i worked at lonestar in high school.  but i'm older than you, so you wouldn't have worked there at that time.

Don't worry about it . . . La Hacienda should stay local, and seafood ain't local in Manhattan, KS.

I've eaten at Wahoo twice, once for lunch, once during Sunday brunch, but I got a regular lunch item.  It was very good both times.  Sandwiches range from $8-$11 and are good-sized portions.  Haven't had any entrees but they are more in the $15-$25 range.  I've had the crab cake sandwich and the pulehi (sp?) steak sandwich.  The crab was awesome, and the steak was very good.  Also had some of the wonton pork nachos which were alright, definitely an interesting combo of flavors, but I probably wouldn't get it again.  A friend of mine who works there says the BBQ Pizza is great.

I've eaten there a few times. Breakdown of things I've had:

Walleye - the best thing I've had there
Marlin - good, comes with cheese and marinara on it which was weird
Snapper - good but not as good as the other two
Ahi - overcooked and small portion
Wahoo - horribly overcooked

The two overcooked meals were from the first week they were open so perhaps they were still learning.

I don't think I'm going back.  I mean it was ok, but cnsidering the plethora of options I just don't see the point.  Seafood in manhattan, ks is dumb.  may as well just go to green tea or umi and at least delude myself with some atmosphere/pomp.

Hibachi use to have the seafood flown in 2 or 3 times a week from Louisiana. I would ear it on the day it arrived it was always the good. I think it was maybe just twice a week- Tuesdays and Fridays.
