It seems like if there is a new national franchise coming in, they normally just tear down the existing building and put up their own. I guess there are a lot of Pizza Huts out there that have been re-tooled for Mexican restaurants or Chinese buffets.

That reminds me. I got to eat at the Mexican place that they put into the former Nelson's Landing building in Leonardville. It was pretty good. Had their fried tacos. Would go again if I'm in the area.

Haven't heard the Whataburger rumor and I believe the building is still up for sale/rent so I strongly doubt that one. Hawaiian Bros has a "Coming Soon" sign in front of the former Starbucks? location on 24. Sidenote: had Hawaiian Bros two weeks ago for the first time and I truly do not get the hype. But I rarely get fast food hype so

I think the sign says sold on the BK building now, idk who bought it tho.
I think that is a former Panera on 24.
I'll just be happy for something new on the far east side.

#2 had Hawaiian Bros for rehearsal dinner.  We ate leftovers for a month.  If I never have it again, I'm good.

Tom, what can you tell me about Beef-a-roo? I had never heard of it until I saw the location under construction in MHK. The kids say it sounds like a place that might serve kangaroo meet but their menu looks promising.

Stumbled on them searching NNN properties for sale.

I can't find the listing anymore.  IIRC, they were asking around $2m with 5-6% cap rate.

Haven't had it since before it was Ana's but yes, it was always good. Just don't make it over to that part of town all that often. Also, mocat you owe a MHK restaurant review after your visit on Sunday/Monday.
