Guys, I had ribs today at Cox Bros and they were actually pretty good!  :Wha: I know what you're thinking: "You're crazy waks!" But I really couldn't find much to complain about them.

Maybe they were just on a roll that day or maybe it had something to do with me reading this article about America's 35 best ribs. Oddly, no Wichita or OKC places were mentioned (MIR bait)

I like Cox Bros too. You're out of your mind if you think I'm going to look at a slideshow comprised of 35 slides, lol.

Click "list" and it just lists them without slides.  #lifehack

get outta here with KC having 4 of the top 8, obvious bias there. Also anyone who lists Bryant's and Gates over Jack Stack either have poor taste buds or paralyzing white guilt.

:flush: not even #1 in the metro, what's a z-man? Also Jethro's in Des Moines is better than any place in KC, and I really like Jack Stack.

only an Ioway hayseed like MIR would think a place in freaking Des Moines called Jethro's (lol) is better than any place in KC.

gates ribs are pretty good, just not as meaty as what you get from jackstack and okie joes.  but then, jackstack's sauce isn't as good as gates.

my order would be-
1) jackstack
2) gates ribs most of the time
3) ok joes

i just love gates sauce that much.  i don't know how bryant's ribs made any list.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

that depends on what your price range per drink is. there's a few good selections in each. i don't know what you tried last night, but i'm not a big fan of their whisky punch, if that's what the special is/ was.

tried the flowers and froth, mascara on a mule, rusty trombone, and kitchen sink.  rusty trombone was probably the best.

the >$20/glass ones are probably lost on me - i always just drink buffalo trace at home.

you could go wild in the $8-$13 range and most likely not be disappointed. waks recommended Breckenridge to me. it's not a true bourbon because it is distilled in breckenridge, co, but it is very good. i also like bookers but that is fairly common. i have not tried the woodford double oaked yet. it is what i have planned for my next trip.
