Have seen preliminary concepts for different retail/restaurant combo layouts on the carwash property  at 12th & Bluemont.

blow the doors off this story mhkpasa

looks like the anchor tenant is Potbelly Sandwich shop...if you a KC'er you might have noticed one in the Plaza & a new one near College & Metcalf...depending on layout, would be Potbelly and possibly 2-3 adjacent tenant finish small retail stores.

no!

I was trying to think what I would want to see in aggieville that it doesn't have.

some sammie shop is not what I was hoping for.

I would like to see a middle eastern kebab type place I think.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think a pizza and pub place would be good. Right now there is only Pizza Hut  :Yuck:

a napoletana pizza/pub place is exactly what MHK needs. good call. prolly more of a "downtown" idea imo.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but another pizza place is going in the old Daras that closed down in aggieville.

yes. put it out of it's misery. re: QT- do we really think they are coming? also the daras/mini mart whatever on the corner of 11th and laramie? anyone heard what's going in there or why that closed?
I really think they are coming  :crossfingers: (honestly)
and the guy tried to bump there rent significantly, he said ok we aren't paying that proceeded to move crap out they called him back a few weeks later and said ok we want you back and you can pay what you had been.. nah, sorry.
wouldn't be surprised if he changes his mind eventually
Oh forgot about this thread and that I went home this weekend and was told by the barbers next door what is going on. Apparently, AJ's Pizza is moving their Aggieville location into the old Dara's, and AJ's old (current) Aggieville location is becoming a Jeff's Pizza. I guess it is some Nebraska pizza chain.  :dunno: Maybe luked.

EDIT: After a quick google search it looks like this is the place they were talking about. Looks like it's from Iowa, so probably gross. Havs?

Completely different business model. Jeff's looks like a mom and pop version of Pizza Hut...

I was imagining something closer to Waldo Pizza.

I heard if this thing takes off like he thinks it will, Jeff's Authentic Mexican Cuisine will be opening up shortly thereafter.
