Guero Loco in Aggieville is some great late night eats. Expensive AF though.

Manhattan expensive or just expensive?
This is hilarious and so true because I was at a wedding in Colby about a month ago and I got a double woodford reserve and it was like $7. I get those in Texas or the city and it’s like $20. Just insane lol
Let me guess, you ordered this drink at city limits (the restaurant attached to the comfort inn).

Ok sys need your opinion on if I hallucinated this—

In my neighborhood I saw a bobcat carrying a rabbit carcass back to the tree line down to a ravine. Was this a bobcat?

Face was bigger than a cats then I noticed its body was bigger than a cat then noticed the tail as it was running and came back to the front and saw it carrying the rabbit in its mouth.

Was this real?
Lol not sure why I posted here.  Mods?????!!!!!

it sounds like a bobcat unless you're saying that it had a long tail in which case it was probably a large domestic cat.

Man I haven't been to that place in years.  Perhaps I'll hit them up one last time for the sake of nostalgia.  Or probably not lol.

That place got away with being “good” (actually bad) when almost all the food and beer in MHK stunk.

had a great steak at Labco in Feb that even the Texans i had with me admitted it was good.  However i had no response when they compared the atmosphere to an old folks home.

Yeah roflmao at 8manpick having zero idea what he's talking about. At least since Covid, LABCO has been making the best food in MHK and it's not even close. Stevesie, Kat Kid and ChiTownCat would also back me up on this.

Now I want to hear a travel points-style stupid fitz story about when something didn't go as planned in the kitchen.

One night I was on dish duty and it was busy AF. It was a nightmare. Just constantly hammering away at piles and piles of dishes. An even newer guy was training and barely helping me at all. He just kept disappearing. I just wanted out of there ASAP as I had something going on that night so I was just hammering away. I finally got to the end of the pile after it slowed down and the new dude was no where to be found for like the last hour. I go in the back and he and all of the cooks are getting high in back room. I went back and "finished up" and was like, I'm out of here. One of the cooks goes, "no you aren't", and started bringing over all of the gross pans and utensils and crap they had been using all night. Just another giant pile of even more gross dishes. I looked at the pile and then back at him and said, yeah, eff that crap and just left. I can't remember if I ever went back or if I went back for a few more days before I found another job.

The main menu is fairly meh but they do a better job with steaks than most.  The special menu is the best food in MHK.

I'd also assume that 80% of the staff is high 100% of the time.

It got good. I am really sad as Manhattan now has killed two really solid fine dining restaurants in recent years and now this and I fear a continued slide.
