puni you should have a 'green day' where you use those peppers and peas and pickles and maybe some lettuce with greek goddess dressing or something

Ate a ghostie ghost. Pretty rough ridin' intense. Way hotter than the last one I had. Pain subsiding, endorphins rising.

Are there different varieties of ghosts? We put one in the garden for the first time this year and this is what mine look like, haven't cut one up to check the heat yet though... (did a quick Google before posting and now see there is a smooth fruit variety of the bhut jolokia, hoping that's what I really got)

How is everyone's garden doing this spring? Mine is starting to "pop"

Far right section is all strawberries i planted last year, just starting to flower.

The main section has spinach/lettuce/kale/mustard greens.

Just planted some green beans behind the greens.

This section at the very front is a random mixbag of greens i started inside during feb. They seem to be doing well.

Planted radishes for the first time and they are super easy, i have harvested about half of them already. The thin green plant is carrots I Co-planted with them for the first time as well.

My first sugar snap pea has latched onto the homemade trellis!

Paging @Sys !

I found this venomous creature in my flower garden and dispatched him with a hoe.

Just kidding. I sprayed him with the hose and he cuddled up next a plant.

The perennials in the front yard are just starting to bloom

Hey Ben ji old pal, since we're friends i thought i'd give you a heads up that those wooden garden partitions are basically termite factories.  You need to get stone in there ASAP!

And stick it out with the strawberries, the first year is rough but it gets easier after that.
Took old HerrSontags advice and replaced the wooden ties last fall.

ben-ji is an absolute stud. Great looking stone retainer and awesome garden. If we were neighbors, we'd be amazing friends. Plus, I'd watch your dog any time you needed me to.

Garden has been tilled once, about to do a second deep till this week and add our homemade compost. Seedlings are starting to get out of control. Need to get them in the ground after Mothers Day!

Teach me your ways.

I tried for the first time this year using the jiffy pods(Same setup as the top level of your pic) in late february. After they sprouted I moved them to a windowsill but they got super elongated and viney. Are grow lights the key?

I moved them all into larger containers and put them outside after a couple of weeks but then I made a boneheaded move. The forecast was all like, its only going to get down to 36 tonight and maybe some flurries, so I was like cool, not gonna freeze I'll leave them outside but then I woke up and the flurries had accumulated into slush inside of my containers and all of my tomatoes(Tomato?) and most of my pepper plants died.

I'm very sad that I can't see CDub's picture anymore. I've tried growlights in the past, but they became a no-go once all the li'l 'Meals started running around. I miss them and want to live vicariously through CDub.

Also ben ji, your garden looks great.

For those that are interested, I recommend googling "Hugelkultur." It's a method of growing plants used throughout northern Europe, and I tried one out this Spring with some wood that I had lying around. It allows you to put a lot of items in a small area. Check it out.

Here is a list of things I put in the ground for this Spring/Summer:
-Tomatoes (3 regular varieties, three cherry/grape varieties)
-Tomatillos (4)
-Bell pepps (3)
-Red bell pepps (2)
-Serrano pepps (2)
-Brussel sprouts (2)
-Mustard greens (lots)
-Collard greens (lots)
-Sunflowers (doi)
-Three types of squash (buttercup x2, delicata x2, acorn x2)
-Bradford Watermelons (2)
-Pumpkins (1)
-Green onions
-A few herbs and stuff
-Raspberry (1)
-Elderberry (1)
-A bunch of flowers to cut for Mrs. 'Meal (lots)

Stuff that is always in the ground and is doing well:
-Blueberries (5-6 bushes)
-Lemon (1)
-Lime (2)
-Clementine (1)
-Grapefruit (1)
-Fig (2)
-Avocado (1)  :excited:

Stuff that is always in the ground and is doing less well:
-Pomegranate (won't flower yet :blank:)
-Asparagus (doing fine, needs one more year)
-Hydrangeas (doing fine but not as many flowers as I'd like )

You know those old timey brochures they would hand out to potential settlers showing some ridiculously large vegetables they could grow in kansas?

Thats what this radish reminds me of

Planted it in late feb and have harvested most of them.

I sliced it up and ate it as a snack

So did everyone forget to plant a garden this year?

Mine is doing just great in case anyone was wondering.

Red- peppers
Green - Sugar Snap peas that grew to big for their trellis and fell over (good problem to have)
Pink - Tomatoe
Blue - Kale/mustard greens
Orange - Carrots
White - Guard dog lady

Lets take a look at the other side of the garden!

We have green beans and onions just going to town!

Squash/cucumbers/strawberries are not pictures.

I donated to a garden.  Does that count?  Gardens seem like a lot of work.  Can confirm?
