spring game recap
« on: April 30, 2011, 04:56:05 PM »
Anybody watch that thing?  I got stuck in my giant vault of golden coins this afternoon (another failed kidnapping attempt, no doubt) and was unable to even listen.  Browns look good?  DRob?  Mystransfer revealed?  Burns any good?  DBs?

Tuggle sucks balls and ballsacks and taints as predicted by goEMAW.com.  Klein had a classic spring game hero type outing.

Klein looked good, especially considering we passed it almost every play. Don't know why they didn't try to get Bryce more touches.

I thought Bryce was more of a "pure speed" guy, but he looked more like a "durable, 3yds a touch" guy. Maybe I was misinformed to begin with.

Was that DT we picked up at the last second or Simon playing?   I'm hoping those guys can come in and help (a lot) right off the bat.

Does OBz really put this much weight into the spring game? Does any coach?

I mean, it's the spring game for christ's sake

his competition is tuggle and lamur at this point.  he sealed the eff out of it before any spring game happened.  as much as I'm sure sams would come in and win a heisman first year even I know he's not our day 1 starting QB under bill.

And who the eff is Kelo Webster?  As far as the spring game not meaning much, the spring practices comprise a decent percentage of the total preseason practices.  Obviously nothing is set in stone but having a really good or bad spring game will help set your place in the depth chart going into the fall.

main question for those who were there:  is the defense going to allow 40 a game again this year?  Or more like 21?

Why do people think that what you see in the spring game in any way indicates what you will see during the regular season?  Every team in the country thinks that the team they cheer for looked good, or at least improved, in the spring game. Every single team.

Went up there - some observations:

Arthur Brown is legit.  14 tackles, 9 solo.

Bryce Brown lived up to the hype in limited action.

Collie Klein actually looked measurably improved.  Yes, it was against a Chris Cosh secondary, but his pocket presence and passing in general was impressive.  The two touchdowns on long down field passes in the seam stood out.

Defensive line looks improved.  Meshak will add a dimension.  Harold looked decent.  Linebackers as a unit shouldn't be a horrible liability.

The secondary was absolutely atrocious.

Agree with others on Tuggle.  He's not worse than Slammy, but he's got a long ways to go.

The hot dog was delicious and filling.

New field turf installation starts on Monday.

Was probably the most interesting K-State spring game I've ever gone to.. Decent crowd too considering how little it was promoted.

Bryce Brown looked okay. I didn't think he looked as good as I thought he would going up against the 2nd team defense. I do like how he finishes off runs.. Hope he works hard this summer. I guess I was hoping for more?

Klein looked improved. I can see him winning the job if he keeps performing that way in practice..

Harold dominated the 1st team O-Line when he wasn't taking the play off. Not sure how I feel about that.

I like how Sexton looked and wouldn't mind him and Mcfall getting some PT at times next year. Both seem to have good hands.

Arthur Brown looks pretty good. He truly is fast. Don't remember which of the tiny running backs broke through at some point in the first half but Brown caught him pretty easily.

Guy behind me said Zimmerman's in the doghouse? Not hurt?

3 kids from booker t washington sat near me. None were lockett.

Disappointed in this year's free poster..

What was the deal with Demarcus Robinson not playing?
