I am not sure the towns are all that much better, except Austin. The programs are.

2.) University of Texas
3.) Girls
4.) state capital

but it doesn't defeat the statement "college towns in general suck compared to Austin"

So true. When all my friends from Lawrence come to visit Manhattan you can see the extreme jealousy all over their face. Of course, they'd never admit it. Sad, really.

The music scene in Austin is what the music scene in Lawrence aspires to be. It really isn't even close.
