Same problem with one of my favorite pairs of pants. If you come up with a solution, let me know.

welp, chicat- i figured it out
when you wash/dry your jeans/shorts, zip the zipper up, fix the flap how it's supposed to be and button your jeans/shorts.
after a couple of washes, the problem is solved

going forward, i have employed this method with my new shorts and it has proven to be 100% effective

My clothes go in a washer, then a dryer, then in a basket, then on my body when needed, then on the floor when taken off the body until enough have accumulated to restart the process

i've never had a flap issue, but i can tell you that the steamer would be the first stop on the troubleshoot express. #choochoo
