Its from a coaches clinic, probably last spring. I'm surprised they let someone film it. I'm sure they won't allow it anymore.

Dimel is usually a pretty good presenter, that had some interesting stuff in it. Interesting to see the different phases of the Wildcat and much of our regular 2 back offense has similar blocking schemes to what was shown in those clips.

And really Snyder/coaches shouldn't be too paranoid about that. Any good coach with a good video coordinator is going to have all that on film anyway, although some of that is from practices b/c we haven't run some of those plays in games.

Is it just me, or did the first video "Shovel Pass" really show a right sweep with DT out of the Wildcat?  I thought a shovel pass included the use of, well, a shovel pass?  Can some HFBIQ person help me out with this?

They way we run it (both with the QB and the Wildcat) it is an option play. The play Coffman scored on to beat UCF was similar, but that was out of trips and we had a pitch option with the bubble to the edge also.  The one out of the Wildcat didn't have the bubble pitch, but was still essentially trips because you had a tight end and 2 receivers; we added the TE for an better blocker and both receivers blocked in the clip vs UCLA.  A good idea when you have the RB running the play because it takes one of the reads away and simplifies the play. In both, you leave the play-side defensive end unblocked and shovel or keep based on what he does.

It should have been a much bigger play too. 3 people missed the key block on the filling LB that would've broken the play open. First the play-side guard after he chipped on the NG, though that would've been a really good block. Then both the pulling guard and other RB ran by him. I'm pretty sure the other RB is taught to turn and block if he doesn't receive the shovel.

Nebraska is still fielding a football team?  I thought they folded shortly after conceding the Big XII to Texas and OU?

nothing says "jtksu" quite like taking a hilariously bad potshot at a team that has outscored us 242-103 in the last six matchups.
