also, sucks for negredo
Pellegrini seems to be a great man manager. Something Mancini wasn't. He'll get them all relatively equal time. Don't forget about Jovetic too. (Negredo's goal that was incorrectly called offside was a great finish - he, Aguero, and Dzeko are all about the same level. Just different types of players who will be used in different situations.. I will say that Aguero and Dzeko seem to have a GREAT partnership up top. See Aguero's goal.)
Pellegrini has said that Dzeko is his main man. Something Mancini didn't say or believe. Dzeko came off the bench and scored goals last season. 14 goals in only 13 starts. Top goal-scorer for the team. If he gets 20-25 starts, that number should shoot up to 20+. That's the theory anyway.
Also, Fernandinho...
Navas looked very good too. Seem to have done some great business this summer. Pellegrini has hinted that they may not be done yet in the transfer market, but I can't imagine where we need another player.
yeah, was referring to negredo's disallowed goal - that sucks, love to see people score in (more or less) their debut. dzeko is great - seemed strange that mancini didn't really rate him.
not that it's a substandard back line by any means, but could maybe use some additional cover back there - especially with what i'm assuming will be a long CL run. any word if kompany's injury is serious?
looked like everyone was having fun yesterday. if pellegrini can keep everyone happy, watch out.
Backup RB - Micah Richards (When healthy, used to be better than Zabaleta IMO, who has vastly improved over the past few seasons, and signed a new contract the other day through 2017

)
Backup LB - Aleksandar Kolarov
Backup CB's - Nastasic and Javi Garcia (who also plays CDM)
I don't know anything about Vinny's injury. It's a groin injury though, and he "hopes to make a quick recovery." That could mean back next weekend. It could mean missing one or two games. Nastasic was out last game, but he's scheduled to come back next weekend, so he could fill in. If not, Garcia would play.
Pellegrini definitely seems to have the players buying into his system. They seem to trust him. And yeah, if he can keep everyone (or most at least - probably not Gareth Barry LOL) happy, we can be very dangerous. MAY ACTUALLY WIN A rough ridin' GAME IN THE UCL.
With how strong that XI was yesterday, to think that Negredo, Nasri, Milner were all on the bench is encouraging. Need that kind of depth to have success in multiple competitions. And Jovetic, Nastasic weren't even on the team sheet at all....
