Pellegrini seems to be a great man manager. Something Mancini wasn't. He'll get them all relatively equal time. Don't forget about Jovetic too. (Negredo's goal that was incorrectly called offside was a great finish - he, Aguero, and Dzeko are all about the same level. Just different types of players who will be used in different situations.. I will say that Aguero and Dzeko seem to have a GREAT partnership up top. See Aguero's goal.)

Pellegrini has said that Dzeko is his main man. Something Mancini didn't say or believe. Dzeko came off the bench and scored goals last season. 14 goals in only 13 starts. Top goal-scorer for the team. If he gets 20-25 starts, that number should shoot up to 20+. That's the theory anyway.

Also, Fernandinho...

Navas looked very good too. Seem to have done some great business this summer. Pellegrini has hinted that they may not be done yet in the transfer market, but I can't imagine where we need another player.

I'm seeing that Bale to Madrid for Coentrao + 93m is a done deal....... (I won't believe it till I see it - have yet to see a reputable source)

Sorry, spurs cats.

Also saw that Spurs are after Erik Lamela. He'd be a fine replacement of Bale. Add in Coentrao, Soldado, Willian... You may have yourself a title-contending team. Probably just Champions League, but still. I think the team will be much better if this deal goes through, and you get all those players too.

grab a second seat, please.

that's been my main concern with the whole thing has been the idea that we get a big pile of cash and nobody worthwhile to spend it on.  long term for the club this would be phenomenal.  not many of the non-oil money clubs get a chance to splash this kind of cash around.  hell, we've already set our record transfer twice this period

yeah, was referring to negredo's disallowed goal - that sucks, love to see people score in (more or less) their debut.  dzeko is great - seemed strange that mancini didn't really rate him.

not that it's a substandard back line by any means, but could maybe use some additional cover back there - especially with what i'm assuming will be a long CL run.  any word if kompany's injury is serious?

looked like everyone was having fun yesterday.  if pellegrini can keep everyone happy, watch out.

Backup RB - Micah Richards (When healthy, used to be better than Zabaleta IMO, who has vastly improved over the past few seasons, and signed a new contract the other day through 2017 )
Backup LB - Aleksandar Kolarov
Backup CB's - Nastasic and Javi Garcia (who also plays CDM)

I don't know anything about Vinny's injury. It's a groin injury though, and he "hopes to make a quick recovery." That could mean back next weekend. It could mean missing one or two games. Nastasic was out last game, but he's scheduled to come back next weekend, so he could fill in. If not, Garcia would play.

Pellegrini definitely seems to have the players buying into his system. They seem to trust him. And yeah, if he can keep everyone (or most at least - probably not Gareth Barry LOL) happy, we can be very dangerous. MAY ACTUALLY WIN A rough ridin' GAME IN THE UCL.

With how strong that XI was yesterday, to think that Negredo, Nasri, Milner were all on the bench is encouraging. Need that kind of depth to have success in multiple competitions. And Jovetic, Nastasic weren't even on the team sheet at all....

Oh man.

Still a slight step down from Chelsea, City, United IMO. We shall see though.

guess i missed your post bro

i know a lot of people are down on walker lately, but i really get turned on by the idea of him and coentrao having the freedom to link forward with cover from paulinho/sandro.  SUCH a sturdy CB/CDM core

(eggs, chickens, hatch, etc)

completely agree on all three. could surpass united on paper, but they have been there too long to not come out top 3 (imo)

not getting champions league with that starting XI, and we should burn down the lane.

Spurs will have great potential no doubt, but I wouldn't get too excited until the following season. It'll take a while for all those players to adjust to the league and gel together.

Who's watching? I have PSV v. Milan on (FS1).

Also on is Zenit v. Pacos de Ferreira (FSC) and Viktoria Plzen v. NK Maribor (FSN).

I don't know if there's a game on FS2 because I'm in KC and SureWest doesn't get FS2.

I know it's only qualifiers, but PSV-Milan is a very high-caliber matchup. Zenit is great as well.

EDIT: 1-0 Milan (Game is in Eindhoven).

PSV has looked great, but they're losing fifteen minutes in. Their starting XI has an average age of 22. :sdeek:

So I'm still at my internship, and won't be able to watch Chelsea v Villa today. I can't believe that after this year I will be missing most weekday fixtures and all of champions league.

I know. I was just thinking about how awesome it was that we were doing that.
