UCL Bold Predictions:  City to Final 8, Liverpool go farther than Chelsea  :surprised:

Final 8 is def a stretch, but that's why it's one of my bold predictos

It's not really that bold. In terms of squad depth and strength, City is top 8. Just haven't been there before which hurts.
It's pretty bold AF, bud.

fwiw the  was more towards 'pool going farther than Chelsea than City going to the QFs. (neither will happen tho)

I have decided that I want to support a team that no one else here supports, is good enough to be fun to watch, but isn't so good that you're like, "What a dork.  Everyone likes [blank]."

Therefore, I'm rooting for Liverpool after giving this much consideration and thought.

Also, Sturridge is a lot of fun to watch, so I'm going with that.

It will also be fun to troll 42.   :comehere:

I didn't know you liked Nebraska. Because Liverpool is without a doubt the Nebraska of the EPL.

I hope panj doesn't pull a mocat and switch teams after I go all-in on committing.to making him my  online BFF.  My heart still aches from the mocat incident.

Rooting for Liverpool feels right, even after the loss in the "Overrated Beer Preseason Cup".

TRANSFER RUMORS
-Arsenal is plotting a surprise move to sign Liverpool center back Daniel Agger. The Gunners are resigned to losing Thomas Vermaelen this summer and are ready to bid for the Dane, who will be allowed to leave Anfield.

-Swansea City defender Chico Flores is on the verge of leaving the Welsh outfit and linking up with former boss Michael Laudrup at Qatari club Lekhwiya. The Spanish center back had a falling out with manager Garry Monk and is free to leave.

-Saphir Taider's loan to Southampton has moved a step closer with the Inter midfielder passing his medical. The Algeria international will be officially unveiled at St. Mary's Stadium on Wednesday.

-Southampton has agreed to a fee of 8 million pounds for Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

-Manchester United will propose a swap deal for Arda Turan should Atletico Madrid make an official double offer for Shinji Kagawa and Javier Hernandez. The Liga champion, though, would be very reluctant to allow the Turkish attacker to leave.

-Real Madrid and AC Milan are currently negotiating terms for Diego Lopez, who could sign for the Italians in a loan.

-Santos and Milan have reached an agreement for Robinho. He's returning once again to his former club on a loan deal and will play for the Brazilian club for one year.

-Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who fell down the pecking order at Anfield and was loaned to Napoli last season, is closing in on a suprise move to German champions Bayern Munich after die Roten agreed a £2 million fee for the Spanish shot stopper.

-Real Madrid is open to offers for Xabi Alonso as Carlo Ancelotti is concerned that the midfielder has lost too much weight.

-Bert van Marwijk could be South Korea's next manager. The FA is in talks with the former Holland and HSV manager.

-Arsenal is reluctant to sell defender Thomas Vermaelen and will only let the Belgium international go as a last resort. Manchester United is keen on the center back but the Gunners would prefer to sell him abroad.

-John Obi Mikel is set to stay at Chelsea after the Blues let Oriol Romeu move to Stuttgart on loan. The midfielder had been expected to depart Stamford Bridge but failed to generate much interest.

-QPR is set to complete moves for Mauricio Isla and Jordan Mutch on Tuesday. However, Harry Redknapp's side will miss out on Ajax striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson.

-Manchester United has told Napoli the club must pay £4 million to take Marouane Fellaini on loan. However, Rafael Benitez's side is unwilling to meet that fee and will only play £1.5 million for the Belgium international.

-Liverpool is leading the race to sign Dani Alves with Brendan Rodgers keen to sign a replacement for Glen Johnson. The Brazilian's agent has ruled out a move to Inter insisting he has had no contact with the Serie A side.

-Real Madrid is planning to replace Sami Khedira with Luiz Gustavo. The Spanish giant hopes to beat Manchester United to the Wolfsburg midfielder who has a 26 million pound release clause.

-Liverpool has inquired about the availability of Napoli forward Jose Callejon as the club continues to search for a replacement for Luis Suarez. However, the Serie A side has told the Reds the 27-year-old is not available.

-Southampton is targeting a move for Georgias Samaras as the team looks to replace Rickie Lambert. The Greece international wants to play in a top European league and has already turned down offers from China, Russia and Turkey.

-Chelsea is to step up its interest in Raphael Varane after missing out on Atletico Madrid defender Miranda who wants to stay in Spain. Jose Mourinho knows Varane from his time at Real Madrid.

Haven't talked to Jon about it. Didn't even realize he was a big Liverpool fan.

Confession: I don't really use Twitter outside of football season.

Second round of European play? Yes, yes please. 2-1 HC.
