not good..(The U)
« on: April 18, 2011, 10:43:38 PM »
they return about as much starting experience on both their offensive and defensive lines as possible by a college team.

The current 2nd string LT is former #2 player in nation and started 10 games as a freshman in 2010.

+ return 6 starts at RT

+ The LG, C, and RG all started every game last season.

= 54 starts last season among their current post-spring depth chart on the OL

That doesn't even take into account their QB who will likely be a 4th year starter next season.

The interior DL each started every game and their DE's both started games last season.

This is a Miami team that outgained it's opponents by nearly 100 ypg last season but turned the ball over recklessly. It is a very talented team with a great deal of experience in areas where it is highly valued.

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Great. We can't pressure a bad offense with no experience, let alone this iron curtain. Sounds like they should have no trouble putting up 60 or 70

Yes, but how much of that advantage will be negated by two things: LHC Bill Snyder vs. Al Golden, and the fact that this will be the third game for the Canes under said coach?

I feel good about this one.  I favor KSU to be completely honest with you.

Good breakdown, The Manhatter.  I didn't realize "The U" had good players.  Also, keep in mind Cosh will really have coached up the defense a lot better than the one that gave up +/- 1000 yards in its final two games to North Texas and Rutgers.

We may not play sound defense, but we do take advantage of turnover teams. See Texas

Good chance I'll be at this game. I will yell extra hard when we're on defense.

THis will be our "God dammit, we should have beaten that incredibly mediocre but talented team" game of 2011. see 2009 vs UCLA and 2010 vs Baylor. :blah:

Miami's starting lineup averages almost four stars.  Al Golden is the next Bob Stoops.  He took Temple to a bowl!  TEMPLE!

Miami game up front per Phil Steele
« Reply #19 on: June 06, 2011, 10:25:50 AM »
Miami's OL listed as Steele's fifth best unit......KSU not among top forty listed
Miami's DL listed as Steele's seventh best unit.......KSU not among top 37 listed

This probably isn't a good thing.

we gameplan this thing to completely take the front lines out of it.  you think LHCBS hasn't thought of that?

So does that mean we are 38th? Cause I'll take that and run!
