Well, I wasn't lying. I didn't think HP did make calculators. I stand corrected.

We were just recently bought by HP so I guess I need to familiarize myself with the catalog. :)

it wasn't the actual farmers that were posting on facebook, it was the daughters of the farmers, and grandkids.
this seems to be a pretty important and overlooked point

I fit this demo, I guess.

My Grandfather was a farmer.

I happen to believe he's the best person I have ever met in my life, and doubt that I will ever meet a better one.

I was moved by that commercial.

I watched my Grandfather work his ass off for decades, never complaining, always positive...   He put three kids through higher ed, and ensured their futures.  He sold off most of his land before he passed, to pay for the finest Alzheimer's care he could buy, for my Grandmother.

He never complained about others "getting more," or "the government" doing this or that...just went to work every day before most of us woke up, and finished well after we were done...all while spending nearly every ounce of free time on others, never missing a kid/grandchild birthday party or important family event.

So, I will suffer a few rolled eyes and snickers on this one.  That was a nice tribute to something I value a great deal, but am not personally good enough to be.

Pffft.  Congrats on your new career as a hunter-gatherer.  Sorry guys puniraptor can't engineer for you because he's too busy trying to choke down the pine cone he found the other day.

If dude is trying to pass a pinecone, I think he more than deserves a few days off.

The best part of the ad was the really vivid imagery.  Like I could see the dirt and oil in the old man's nails and in the little depressions of his fingerprints.

I didn't know HP made calculators, either, until I started working with some industry insiders. Maybe you should forward the super bowl commercial idea to some higher-ups. I mean, their own employees don't even know they make calculators, for Christ's sake.

One of the nails looked like part of it was torn off.   :sdeek:

Listening to Stan and Wyatt for pregame and they had CL on talking about ttech. Very well spoken guy who seems to come across as someone who can relate well with kids.

It is such a great setup where we essentially have two HC on the team.

I bet they can't say the same about themselves compared to college. I know I can't.
