People hate westbrook because of his stupidity on the court not because of a press conference.

meh, westbrook is similar to brett favre and takes a bunch of risks.  if it pays off, he's a hero.  if it doesn't, then white midwesterners are pissed.

White Midwesterners hated Lebron waaaayyyyy before The Decision.

Or because he didn't shake hands after they lost to the Magic, or because he quit against the Celtics, or several other things.  Did you start watching the NBA in 2011?

The people I talk to hate Lebron because he doesn't take over the game when he's supposed to be the best player. The same people hate Westbrook for attempting to take over the game when he's not the best player, saying he should be passing it to Durant or Ibaka.

I think the "taking over a game" talking point is pretty dumb, same as "being clutch". If you average 30 points a game, I don't see why it matters which quarter you score those 30 points in.

it matters because almost all meaningful games are close at the end.  it's often the difference between winning and losing.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I can't speak for everyone but for me it's his weird, over the top intensity and his hideous physical appearance.

Rondo is a Boss.  Also, though I've long called KG the biggest bitch in the NBA I've been coming around on him, and pretty much wish I could take those words back. He's an agitator to be sure, but he is smart about it.  That arm-lock on Lebron was a thing of beauty and almost worked. He almost has a Jamaresque quality to his game.

I've said this for years, but only because I always thought they kind of look alike.

Just go back and look at everything ku fans said about Tyshawn all season, then look how the awkwardly pretended it never happened when he took them to the Final Four.  That's what's happening with Westbrook.

steve dave playoff only high level NBA analysis:

I like KG.  He has a lot of Jamar in him.  Like if Jamar was more intense and had NBA arms and legs and body.  I don't like Pierce or the other guy that used to be good at shooting but now isn't that I can't think of his name right now.  they seem too old.  rondo is good but his head looks funny.  mostly the eyes part of his head.

I don't really like the Heat because they kind of seem like softy softersons.  supposedly they are good but they don't like to act like they are.  could be strictly based on the games I've watched them (lost all of them).  they seem to get sad that they lose a lot but don't seem to want to do anything about it.

I like the Thunder because my bro lives in Tulsa and is very excited about them and it gets me excited.  he texts me ridiculous crap like "THUNDER UP!!!!!!!" all the time. also I like the westbrook guy because he seems like he enjoys barelling towards the rim all haphazardly.  when Durant has the ball I tell mrs. dave he's going to dribble twice towards the basket and then fade away and make it.  he does this every time he has the ball.  makes me look like I know a lot about the NBA.

the spurs seem like they are very, very good for 5 minutes but then suck for a long time and lose.  why not be good all the time?  duh.
