Jankovich is my favorite candidate otherwise.
DO.NOT.WANT.

Hoiberg sounds intriguing (are the Bulls already done with him?)
Sampson same (doesn't he have one of those oscar Pearl clauses or something?)
For that kind of scratch ($6 M, plus a oscar-like $1 or $2 M per year) couldn't we get that Marshall dude from Wichita State? - not sure I would want him, but he seems to be consistent in fielding good squads.
Time to let Francisco Martínez go, hermanos. It's hard to accept, but we have to do it.
I'm in it purely for the entertainment value.

$6 million goes a long way towards tha South Endzone project.  Also buys most of that new soccer stadium.

Just sayin

It also helps from making a fan base stop bitching about their basketball program- 24/7/365.

For $6 million you could reanimate or clone Jack Hartman. That's what we should do.
Could $6 m also just rejuvenate Tex? Better option, IMHO (actually had a final four or two, didn't he?).

there's no better way to spend six million dollars.

I feel like this "we've got the $6 million" is just a ruse for Brad to bilk OSU for more money when they redo his contract.

Marshall would be awesome.  Better track record than Underwood.

The more I kept hearing "this is what I've heard" the less I believed that either one of those guys knew what they were talking about.

You're basically paying the $6M for Brad's upside. His ceiling is way higher than almost anyone else, and the assumption is he'd stay here no matter how much success he has, unlike other "high ceiling" people.

I'm not saying I agree with this logic.

There is no reason to think he would stay no matter how much success he has

There is no reason to think a lot of the things people are saying in this thread.

Well, Brad or no, at least we are finally unified that bringing Oscar back for another year is as about as dismal a statement about KState basketball as can be made.

As much as I want to believe all of this and that it'll lead to some maneuverings, I have to think the most likely outcome is oscar's return and let the new AD deal with it. Am I missing something here?

If I were super rich, I don't think I'd give millions to help Brad's buyout.

oscar's agent should be trying to get him a equivalent salary and new deal elsewhere if he is without AD support or an extension here. If Crean were to be a candidate  at MU why wouldn't oscar be a candidate.

After the last game acting AD needs to put on the squeeze a bit.

If I were super rich I would give millions to remove oscar even if it meant replacing him with a tree stump.

Why to people keep saying the donors have the money for buyouts.  I've heard it multiple times on the radio. Will we really spend all that money to fire oscar and bring in Brad?
