The hard thing is there really is no "one way" they win. Stevens maximizes the talent he has and his players make plays down the stretch at really an amazing rate. Against Pitt they played pretty terrible defense, but found a way to win. Against Wisconsin they played ridiculous defense which allowed them to build a huge lead and find a way to win. Against Florida they got down 9 with less than 8 minutes left and made enough plays to win. Their experience definitely helps.
I am anxious to see what type of career Stevens has. There is no doubt he is a very good coach, but the standard he has set is pretty ridiculous, whether he stays at Butler or goes to a bigger school, especially considering how young he is.
And finally, a player committing a foul (even a dumb one) is still players deciding a game. It wasn't like either one of the fouls mentioned in the Pitt-Butler game were big time judgement calls. You clearly see a foul like either of those you have to call it, but its still the players deciding the game. JMHO.
