I finally got around to reading Beth Peopledenhall's novella on the goEMAW.com blog, and it occurred to me that the university can keep EMAW without making an issue about what the M stands for.
After all, the NAACP continues to exist, even though the CP stands for the politically incorrect term "colored people." I would like to pressure the NAACP to change the CP to POEO (people of ethnic origin), thus calling themselves NAAPOEO (which sounds cool when you say it aloud).
All I'm saying is, EPAW is just clumsy, awkward, largely because the plosive P sound makes it sound like a capgun, whereas EMAW is smooth and cool, given the nasal fricative M. EPAW sounds like something you see splashed on the screen during a fight scene on the old Batman TV series. EMAW sounds like the contented sound John Coltrane might make after a cool jazz session.
Don't sacrifice cool in the name of political correctness. That's all I'm say ..
