K-State radio stations
« on: March 21, 2011, 05:34:20 PM »
ok guys-
I live in North Carolina and need your advice. What's the best radio station to tune into (assuming they have an internet feed) to get the best, unsucky sports talk relating to K-State sports? KMAN sometimes has good programming, but they have so much NASCAR, volleyball, hell fitness segments. Kind of hit and miss. When they're sucking up the internet, I usually go to 810 WHB, but they're usually focused on KU and Mizzou unless KK chimes in now and then. Are there any alternatives? I'm only home after 5 pm(4 central) and just want to get my K-State sports fix. I know during NFL season, 810 is the place to be for Chiefs talk, but I'm sick of listening to Wyatt's crap, Fitz's blathering and pretty much the whole 1350 KMAN experience right now. I used to listen to them the whole 4 hours before football games, but they seem to have gone downhill. Just hoping to find something different.
TIA!

There's pretty much 6 stations with sports talk in the "KSU area."

KSAL Salina--Hokey small townie sports talk that spends way too much time on high school girls basketball
KFH Wichita--Not sports talk at your time.
WIBW--steinbrock is a Cat, but turned his EMAW card in long ago for squawk dollars.
610 sports KC--Annoying hosts and squawk homers.  Don't waste your time.
KMAN---you know this
810 KC--Probably your best bet in between 10 minute commercial breaks and talk about their golf games.

I was wondering if they had anything. I had to listen to their broadcast of a couple football games last year when I couldn't find Wyattvision. Pretty hard to listen to, but I'll give this show a try.
