Marquette coach.  If he turns them down, I'm not really sure that they have a backup plan at this point.

I don't get why a coach would leave Milwaukee and a sold out 17,000 seat arena for Norman... Milwaukee is full of recruits and if he can't find what he wants in Milwaukee, he can hop in his car and head 80 miles south to Chicago.

OU's best bet is Pastner.

Not going to happen. OU will have to go the squeaky clean route this time around.

Can we get him as contract recruiter? Get him an unlimited AA credit card and put him on the road.

They'll do something weird, like Tubby Smith.

I'm starting to believe Tubby is just an above-average coach... Then again... he is at the University of Minnesota. That athletic department is a joke.

I think he is just above-average. I can completely see Joe Castiglione going w/ Tubby as a "clean image guy," and hiring his own version of Dalonte Hill (and not as a head coach in waiting). This could by them a couple of years to find the next "rising mid-major coach" (I don't think there is one out there now).

Then why is he still recruiting the eff out the Texas and Oklahoma area?  Ask just about any good young guard in OK or TX and they list goddamn Marquette.  He's still more familiar with this region then he is up there and that has to be the basis of any argument for him to leave there for Norman.  Of course I am a bigger recruiting nerd then even Sys so I am probably overvaluing the impact of recruiting.

Also 10 team conference > 16 team conference, but thats just my personal opinion.

C. Martin seems more of less an Midwestern younger version of Capel.  If OU was to hire him they just should've kept Capel for another year.

buzz was made for the ou job and vice versa.  if they don't make it work, both will regret it.
