"Just three years after an Elite Eight, Oklahoma has parted ways with Jeff Capel.
According to sources, Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione informed Capel of the decision on Monday.
The Sooners have struggled the last two seasons, since Blake Griffin left Norman, going 27-36 overall and 9-23 in Big 12 play.
Two years ago it was a train wreck with Willie Warren, Tiny Gallon and Tommy Mason-Griffin. That team finished 13-18.
Then there was an NCAA investigation centered around Gallon and a $3,000 loan from a financial advisor.
This season was a rebuilding year in which the Sooners were 14-18 overall."
