Tons of laughs here, especially if you read about drugs on the report card.

I actually lived behind Bobby T's for a year and I'm pretty sure I was never in there after like 8 pm.  (Tuesdays were pretty sweet there-  cheap ass tacos and draws and replays of the previous football game.  Great if it wasn't televised and played in some place I didn't want to drive to like Waco or Lubbock.)

"A handful of universities have really hit the jackpot," said Feller, the retired economics professor.     :kstategrad:

At Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan., taxpayers will spend nearly a billion dollars to build the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility to guard the nation's agricultural economy and food supply. Though it is a federal project, it is expected to have a deep and lasting effect on the university _ long before it is operational in 2019.

The facility's scientists, for instance, will become adjunct KSU professors, enhancing graduate studies and creating new areas of collaborative research. The university is also using the project to develop a partnership with animal health corporations that could result in lucrative advancements. The Manhattan area could become "a Silicon Valley for food science and animal science," said the Homeland Security Department's O'Toole.

Was just watching The Great Food Truck Race on the Food Network and yawned really deeply when they mentioned that next week's show was filmed in "the little apple."  I mean...MHK is the obvious (only?) choice between Denver and Memphis, but it's kind of intense/exhausting to see Manhattan hyped as the best college town on earth every time you turn around, you know?  Poor Manhappenin' can never have an off night.  It must be kind of how it feels to be, say, Radiohead or Garrison Keillor.

I know we're sort of beating a dead horse here, but yesterday I volunteered to help distribute over 2500 Thanksgiving dinners to families in need.  I saw many of these broke folks wearing KU hats and sweatshirts and sweatpants, only one or two Mizzou, and as you would expect, not a single K-State (of course there were several EMAW's volunteering).  I have submitted this anecdotal evidence in support of the underlying thesis for peer review and, while the reviews haven't come back yet, I've gotten a lot of winks and nods around the water cooler.

No, I think it was called Westchester Park.  Not sure what they're like now but the used to be pretty nice.  Very few undergrads lived there so it was pretty quiet.
