Mountains of Finland, beaches of Cambodia, Isles of Greece, Flint Hills of Manhattan, French Polynesia etc. All suits cut from the same beautiful cloth. The world is truly a beautiful place. Everybody should visit each of these destinations at least once in their life IMO.

Of course, this probably doesn't take into account the fact that K-State grads settle in more exotic/desirable locales with higher cost of living - the ROI metric should probably be normalized by COL to make it fair to grads of "regional" schools (e.g., WSU, KU, Brown Mackie).

Something else caught my eye.  K-State is only marginally more expensive than Berkeley for in-state students - somewhat surprising given the recent faculty attrition / budget issues / overall decline at the UCs.

Couple gives $3 million to Kansas State
May 2

MANHATTAN, Kan. — A couple who graduated from Kansas State has donated $3 million to the university to support a new leadership program and a welcome center.

The university announced Thursday that David and Ellie Everitt, of Marco Island, Fla., designated $2 million to the Leading Change Institutes and $1 million to the welcome center.

David Everitt is a Concordia native who graduated with an industrial engineering degree in 1975. His wife is a 1973 graduate who earned a degree in clothing and textiles.

The Leading Change Institutes which opens in the summer of 2015, will bring together leaders and scholars to discuss ideas for confronting global and everyday challenges.

The welcome center will provide student career services and a gathering place for students and employers.

But, but, but I thought KU is the one that puts its professionals out into the world while all KSU grads are Kansas lifers (not that there's anything wrong with that) without lofty goals and expectations? This couple is just another example of some studs from KSU kicking ass in life. GO STATE.
Please don't ban me, Mr. Dave.

At what point does Ft. Riley start being uttered in the same breath as Ft. Knox in terms of military installations protecting such a valuable asset as K-State is to the good ol' US of A? I can't wait to see Daniel Craig as Bond foil a new age Arty Goldfinger from trying to destroy K-State.

Why do you think they moved the 1st ID back? Only the best can protect KSU.
