They only part of their songs I like is the end after they build everything up, which they do in every single song. Except for "Sigh No More". That one's flawless.

they have gained a crap load of momentum lately. honestly think the soccer commercial had something to do with it.

Had a friend go crazy for them.

I don't like her tastes in anything, so I am not a fan by default.

Seems like some kind of emo folk mashup.

"the cave" was the theme song in a series of espn barclay's premier league commercials for a few months around dec.-jan. or so. that's actually where i first heard them. thought the tune was incredibly catchy and googled to see who it was. have been obsessed ever since. did not watch the grammy's this year.

They performed with Avett Bros and Bob Dylan. Noticed a couple of their songs show up on the "most popular" list on grooveshark after that.

Terrible. I can think of twenty bands that could do their crap better than they do.

comparing noah and the whale, and flogging molly w/ mumford and sons is almost like comparing apples to oranges.  noah and the whale & mumford and sons both are are "english folk" bands, however noah leans very heavily toward indie, while mumford is much more traditional folk w/ rock influence. flogging molly is not folk, they are celtic w/ a big time punk influence.

to the untrained ear/casual listener they do sound very similar, but they are not.

I'm somewhat irish, so I should probably like these guys, but I just don't.

FWIW, took me forever to like mashed potatoes which was weird for a somewhat irish dude (inorite?).  Give it time, I might come around, or not.

saw a somewhat humerous tweet from someone yesterday stating that Avett Bros and Mumford & Sons were the boy bands of the NPR Crowd.
