Musical Ringtones
« on: February 24, 2011, 04:15:30 PM »
Was just in a very white trash NW Missouri town and ate lunch at the nicest place in that town - which was still trash.  Anyway, at the table next to me 2 adults with 3 kids and the adults and one kid had musical ringtones that they left on while at the table.

Guy (not sure if dad or not) = opening guitar licks from Sweet Home Alabama
Mom= beginning of "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins
Eldest daughter = Kesha or something

Do any of you dudes have musical ringtones?
If so, what song?
Do you leave your phone on ring that much where it would be necessary?
How much to you actually take real incoming phone calls?

For me, my phone is never on ring, always on vibrate or silent.  I usually see my missed calls and return them, or just text a "what do you want"? to whoever called.  I might consider a ringtone to be funny at some point but there are way too many songs that might be funny.  I'd freak out with the choices.

These folks at lunch had a ton of incoming calls, and took them and talked a long time.  I guess I can see how cell phone companies make a lot of money on minutes.  These hicks chatted away like a 1930's operator.

I don't even remember the last time my phone wasn't on vibrate or silent.  Hate people that have songs for text messages and have to listen to that crap  :curse: :chainsaw:

Used to have the guitar solo of Screwdriver (The White Stripes) several years ago.  Had it assigned to a specific person.

I get incoming calls a lot.  On certain jobs, it isn't out of the norm for me to go through two cell batt's a day.

Also, can't do the silent/vib thing when phone is in cargo pockets.

Does this speak more to you, or those leaving the messages?   :dunno:

my phone rarely rings, but when it does (outside of work) it plays the background music to Back to the Hotel (not that most people would recognize the music).

i don't really care to listen to a message from my mom saying "it's your mother, give me a call" when i could just call her and see what she wants.  timesaver.  plus, if somebody calls that i don't want to talk to, i just say "didn't get your message, bro!"  :ck:

Vibrate/Silent. Used to have the Soul Glo song from Coming to America. Would get funny looks from African Americans (I'm white).

My first phone issued from an employer had a midi-type "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" on it so I set it to that.  I got called so many times prior to 7 am on weekends that I still hear that ringtone sometimes and it makes me shudder.

Only one I've had since is Wabash.

I used to be a manager at a car dealership and I set me ring to this:

Still made me smile every time my phone rang.

Now that using my phone doesn't have anything to do with my work; I just have it on vibrate.

Mine is Donny from the Big Lebowski saying "phones ringin' dude" over and over again.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

my phone is almost always on vibrate, but, when it is not on vibrate, it is set to:
aren't you glad it wasn't you? - g.h.

Usually on vibrate, but when it's turned up my ringer is "ABC" by Jackson 5. Not a joke.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

When I was at the hospital with one of my friends, his nephrologist's ringtone was the "house" theme song.

I chuckled.

Mine is nearly always on vibrate, I leave it in my purse almost all the time so I never get incoming calls.  I hate to check messages too.
On the rare occasions I do take the phone off the vibrate setting, it has a recording of my son laughing.

I had trolololololololololo as my ring tone, but I think it deleted itself.
