I think it would be pretty cool to put white turf on the field and then project a video down onto the field, covering it up endzone to endzone.

So reading the last few threads is it true that the west side expansion will include a Jack-in-the-box? Or is the West Side being built by the same people that build Jack-in-the-boxes. I'm confused>?

I'm no architect/architectual engineer, but I think they are going to put down a grid of JitB's 20 wide by 6 high, cover the whole thing with grout and throw limestone bricks at it.

Yeah, compensating ones are always good.

Plus, with the way the new stuff is designed, the Northwest Corner is out of play.

How about a super elite compensating one in the North Endzone, fixed atop a fantastic limestone platform, and then have 2 more near compensating ones in the Southwest and Southeast corners.   Take down those trashy looking semi- permanent bleachers that Weiser put up above the permanent seating bowl/corners;  if Google Earth is to be believed its 80 something feet across at the top of those corner sections.   Then just wrap the Northeast corner of the seating bowl around to the corner of Vanier.

That's also a good idea NK . . . maybe have a Tupac Hologram halftime show.

It is seriously the shittiest college town ever. basically a continuation of west Oakland (also a shithole) until you get to the hills. This is something I've been wanting to get off my chest for a while but didn't want to do it in a thread where we were making fun of KU for thinking they were a Pac 12 esque school. Lawrence is a way better college town than Berkeley, and it isn't really close imo.

The official groundbreaking isn't until tomorrow and it will probably be a while before there's any visible construction to look at on a webcam.  Also, you know Snyder isn't going to want his practices broadcast live online everyday.  If there is ever a webcam, it's going to have to be fixed (ie, cannot rotate it up and down, etc) so that it avoids showing any of the field.

Idea:

On the top of the east side of the stadium. Where it says LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium in big ugly purple letters over the gray concrete like its a high school stadium.

That should be replaced with either all limestone, or a ribbon board for adverts/messages for people on that side of the stadium tailgating during pregame, halftime or after the game, or for advertising for people driving by the rest of the year. Its ridiculous how small time and crappy that looks. Especially after we build the incredible WSC on the opposite side.

I was hoping to be able to watch it.  Has it started yet?  It says it's scheduled to start at 11:00 am, but when I click on the "Watch" button, all I see is a screen that says "coming up: west stadium center groundbreaking ceremony".

Edit: yeah, nevermind.  I'm just impatient.  It started a moment ago.
