and we're prolly the only ones that will let him play QB maybe? :dunno:

Alexander knows he's either a LB or safety.  I don't think he even played QB in high school.

 :blah:

hatter, why don't you leave the high football IQ recruit breakdowns to studs like myself

youch!!

but i will contend that nobody is recruiting him to play QB.  not even k-state.  i think our angle would be that he has a legitimate opportunity to come in and start or, at least, get a lot of minutes at weakside LB right away.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Kansas State added another commitment to the 2013 recruiting class on Tuesday, as defensive tackle Chris Brown announced he intends to play for the Wildcats.

Brown was originally recruited by K-State in 2010 before attending Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College. He committed to Washington State, but when the school fired its coaches and hired Mike Leach, Brown chose to sit out for a year.

He spent the past season working out with trainers to get ready for the 2013 season.

At 6-foot-4, 310 pounds, Brown would already be one of the biggest guys on the Wildcats’ roster, second only to freshman defensive lineman Xavier Gates, who is listed at 6-3, 312 pounds.

Brown, a Mesa, Ariz., native, picked the Wildcats over Arizona State and Iowa. Brown didn’t visit Iowa and told Rivals he was still leaning toward K-State after a visit to Arizona State.

In his final season at Scottsdale, Brown finished with 68 tackles, including 13 for loss and six sacks.

The Wildcats have 21 commits for the 2013 recruiting class with signing day quickly approaching on Feb. 5.

crabtree said this dude is 330 and not 300 or 310.  but who is splitting hairs?  he's listed 330 on espn scout commit list.

THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!  I was thinking 6'4 310 is good, but he could probably put 10 to 15 more pounds on with that frame.

Have you seen any videos of him 'hatter?

some.  he's not 6'4...maybe 6'3.  He has a good build on him.  somebody on the other board described him as similar to Quintin Echols...I tend to agree.  He's got longer than average arms.  He's thick in the lower body.  He's an inch or two taller than Echols.  I watched some video on scout from a camp in high school where he was doing one-on-ones vs. offensive lineman.  He's a pretty stong dude and has bull rushing capabilities.  I don't think he's going to wow anybody but he can be a really solid player.  All we're going to ask him to do is occupy blockers and he can certainly do that.  The nose position should be really solid with Brown, Britz, and Hood.  Not sure if Akinola will be part of the program but he can play some nose as well although I believe we might want him to be more of a 3.

Kinda figured he was a bit of a pud recruit, not exciting in the least.  Seems like if Bielema likes him,  he must be better than I thought.  Pretty good example of why I don't get too worked up about recruiting.
