Robert Cassidy ?@Cassidy_Rob
Iowa Western CC linebacker Travis Green has committed to Kansas State.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Travis-Green-143435

Looks like he has a chance to be a December grad and come in for the spring.

I don't dabble much in this thread because Snyder will do what Snyder does, but when this kid's only other offer is Wyoming, and the best school he received interest from besides us was ISU, i'm not encouraged.

Especially if Snyder leaves.

His photo makes him look like he might end up okay, though. He's nothing to get too excited over, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

This is the story for nearly every player on the team not named Brown, Harper, or Sams.

I would argue that Sams was recruited in another position and only came to K-State because we would give him a shot at QB that no one else would.

Green was a commitment two years ago as a sign and place.  We liked him then, and apparently, he passed muster a second time around.

As mentioned, he's a December grad, and he's played at a very good JUCO program, so he's obviously been learning the game.

He's fine.  No problem here.  It's good for us to get an Iowa Western guy in the fold to help with Nash.

meh, why even try.  scottwildcat articulated why we shouldn't be excited.  It doesn't matter if our coaches liked him both in high school and juco (btw, led his conference in ints this season).  Some of the reason he isn't getting much play in recruiting is that he's played just one season.  it isn't that difficult to figure out.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

so I started watching Green's highlight video from high school.  It is really hard not to like the kid while watching.  If we got him as a strong safety then he will be a missile attacking ball carriers and if he's an OLB then he will be really fun to watch make plays.  The kid is just an excellent football player.  He is not electrifying but he's a solid athlete and LOVES physical contact.  Great instincts.  As mentioned earlier by panjandrum, our staff liked him out of high school and they liked him again after a year in juco.  that tells you something.

if you care to watch the highlights...might even fast forward to the Omaha Northwest game.  In partcular, at the 3 minute mark he smokes a fool on kickoff coverage and then catches a TD pass on the next play.  Coaches love these types of players and after watching him a while it isn't difficult to see why the KSU coaches fell for this kid. btw, he's #20 on the blue/gold teams.

Well, including grayshirts, we have 12 commits as of now with 11 of them being prep/grayshirts.  This is the first JUCO.

My guess is we get at least a few after this week.  So, I'm assuming about 7-10 days from now, we're looking at single digits to get to 25 signees.

4-star Ramirez bringing 4-star Jamone Boyd with him on the visit this weekend.  Also, mystery visitor on offense...me thinks that might be another of Boyd's friends (hint: OL).  That is what my gut has told me since reading it.

Is this still unofficial, or are they making it official?

I assume Eddie Lacy is still coming.

Man, if so, it would be nice for all of them to get along really well and decide they want to come to Kansas State.

With the Garden City guys.

And the Pierce guys.

Pretty much anyone coming on 12/1.

You're probably right.  But maybe they'll be so mesmerized by the crystal Dr.Pepper trophy that they'll not notice Snyder's oldness, or care.

So is Cozart no longer an option...even for a visit? Seems with Heaps and Cummings already in place in front of him that the opportunity to play early may reside here. Or is Ertz our prep QB for the year?
