Isaiah Stokes is 6-7, 225 lbs. He’s also in EIGHTH grade. Do you want your head coach to recruit Isaiah?

Yes.

He will probably be the worst player on the team when he's a 6-7, 240 lb senior and he's not twice as big as everybody else anymore.

braden smith was like that as an 8th grader.

Mediapolis sounds wonderful.

Yes. Like a place a mild-mannered super hero would call home.

Smallville could be an extended suburb of Mediapolis.

Another interesting visitor who was with Nick Marshall from GCCC for our game vs. North Texas was Dominique Jones. He was the DT who we recruited heavily out of HS in 2011...and also Tre Walkers cousin. He chose Baylor out of HS but it looks like he didn't qualify. I wonder if there's any renewed interest? :dunno:

Apparently we are in his top four(Arkansas, K-State, Oregon State and Arizona State) May play safety at the next level, he is either being recruited by Dickey, or cox based on the geographical location, I would bet on Cox because he is a high-school player.

Their new head coach came from the Georgia Military Academy...i wouldn't mind if he kept the Georgia pipeline running up here to GCCC.  :crossfingers:

was in the union bookstore this afternoon and some juco from texas had like 6 people taking a tour of the campus, and some very athletic looking dude was carrying a football and looked like bishop.  anyway, he was talking to some guy about how he was digging the hell out of the campus tour and really wanted to transfer to k-state.  he said he had 8 d1 offers out of high school, i didn't catch the directional schools, but northwestern and aTm were his major ones.

i didn't hear what he said when he said his name or what school, just that it is in texas (), anyone have any idea about info on the guy?  he looked like linebacker/running back bodytype and face very similar to bishop.  thought it was him when i first saw him.  he was very emaw.

Nick Saban always said go to school and recruit the running back.  Cause he is the best athlete in school.

Spread Offenses changed that.

Had a chance to catch up with 3-star Kansas commit Joey Bloomfield last night, and he told me that Kansas State has started to show interest for the first time over the past month.

Bloomfield committed to the Jayhawks back in August, and insists that he's still "100 percent
solid." Kansas State has yet to offer, but with the way he was talking I wouldn't be surprised to see one come soon.

He told me that either way, he's not sure he'll even take a visit to Manhattan if he gets an offer.

He's also planning to take his official to Lawrence after his high school season wraps up, but is also hoping to take an official for a game sometime soon.

I have a full update, with quotes from Bloomfield, that's I'll link here shortly.

Louisville (Ky.) Ballard offensive lineman Joey Bloomfield gave his verbal pledge to Kansas last month, but with his high school season off to a solid start, interest in the three-star is picking up.

The 6-foot-6, 305-pound Bloomfield recently picked up an offer from Miami (Ohio) and one of the Jayhawks biggest rivals is also showing increased interest.

"Kansas State is showing a lot of interest," said Bloomfield, who insists that despite the love from the top 10 Wildcats, he's still 100 percent committed to Kansas. "… I have the utmost respect for Coach Weis and the coaching staff and that's where I'm planning to play next year."

But even the committed Bloomfield had to admit that getting recognized for his talents by new schools is a good feeling.

"It's always good when a powerhouse like Kansas State shows you interest," he said. "But I feel like Kansas is going to be there in a few years, too."

Bloomfield, who is anchoring Ballard's offensive line at left tackle, while also seeing time on the defensive line, said he's not worried about the Jayhawks 1-3 start to the year.

"They did start of a little bit slow but this is a rebuilding year and I know KU will be a powerhouse again in a few years," he said. "Coach Weis and the whole staff are doing a fantastic job and it's going to take a little bit to turn the program around but it's going to happen."

Bloomfield is hoping to see Weis' rebuilding efforts in person for a game this season, but has yet to schedule an official or unofficial visit.

He said that even though new schools are making a run at him, it's likely that he'll take his official visit after the season to Lawrence, and that will be the only trip he takes.

"Right now I'm not sure if I'm going to take any other official visits than the one to Kansas," Bloomfield said. "I plan to take my official visit after the season in December and I hope to make it to a game for an unofficial. I just have to see how my season plays out."
