No but it is just a new Juco transfer rule. Read an article where Snyder was commenting on how much he hated the new rule.

"What's always a concern to me is that we ask more of that young man or that young lady in terms of their grade point average, or their test scores, than we do any other student that attends any university in the country that doesn't participate in athletics," Kansas State football coach LHC Bill Snyder said. "To me, I don't know why you would make a distinction and why you would ostracize some student-athletes. Now, if they don't meet university standards, I can understand that. If they don't, they don't, and you should go by that. But for the NCAA to mandate something that exceeds virtually all, with the exception of the Ivy League schools, there's an unfairness there, I believe."

They also had a another QB transfer today. LOL at Goolsby.

What are the chances MushCamp get fired in the near future.  Any recruit that goes there are in for disappointment.   

He's got one more year.

He got to fire everyone this year.

Odds are Goolsby doesn't care if Muschamp is fired.  He probably assumes they'll get someone decent, regardless.

That and it seems he likes the idea of sticking it to his home state (see Gator chomp in game after announcement).

Also in the public access TV shot of the Derby city hall (born and raised in the dirty D, myself) where he made his announcement, he did the whole hur hur hur pick up the wrong hat schtick ala Illinois when he made his announcement and picked up a K-State hat with some stupid rough ridin' crap-eating grin.  Any kid that wants to go around burning bridges like that can go on burning them IMO.  Plus, i might have mentioned it earlier, but i have super insidery information that the coaching staff has trouble working with the kid, a real primadonna to use their phrase.  Snyder would eat him up.

Could this help us because we could have sub 2.5 GPA Kansas JUCOs walk-on for a semester then award them a scholarship.

I have to assume that the coaches are acutely aware of Darius' situation, and this has been accounted for with their recruiting.

What I'm curious about are the mitigation strategies we can employ.  For example, sure, he committed to us, but can he pay his way at MCC until he gets his grades right?

I'm not sure how the new rule works.  Hopefully, he has a RS year and can get his grades right at MCC like Daniel Thomas did or something like that.

I agree with Bill, though.  This rule is BS.  It was only pushed for by schools in the SEC and Big Ten that have recruiting standards that have been artificially inflated by the conference, so they can't get some of these guys, and they don't want other schools from other conferences to get them.

With Britz and Mueller returning plus the addition of Dvonta at Linebacker it's not as crucial of a need as it could have been.  It would still be huge if we picked up some stud but I wouldn't say whiffing would be a crushing disappointment at this point.
