It's just so weird how we were so excited about basketball recruits 3 years ago and football recruits were nothing to note, and here we are, completely flipped.

Also, Alex Delton is the recruit I've wanted the hardest in my entire life.

From the GPC story on Derricott

Quote
"I'm glad it's over because it was starting to be a headache. Coaches tell you the same thing all the time. I'm done. I might have to step back and think about things if a dream school came along, but right now I'm happy to be a Wildcat."

BUT RIGHT NOW HE IS HAPPY TO BE A WILDCAT.

Hours after telling GPC he needed more time, coveted linebacker Dvonta Derricott ended his recruitment and made a verbal with K-State.

Cassidy thinks Derricott is a qualifying risk, said the coaching staff is "...gonna be sweating this one out for a while."

Sounds like we may need the help of MCC. Not worth sweating over.

He has too many BCS offers to commit to us.  If something seems to good to be true, it probably is.  I will believe it when I see him on the field for his first game in a K-State uniform.

Do you guys think Matt Miller played some role in steering this stud our way?

Or Jeff Kelly. Our GC recruiting sucking ass under their watch has kind of pissed me off.

Excerpts from an Insider article on our newest grid iron stud.

Quote
Kansas State's long-standing tradition of bringing in the top junior college talent in the country continued on Wednesday night with the commitment of top inside linebacker ... Garden City C.C. head coach Matt Miller, "Obviously I am a little bias... Going to Kansas State has never been a bad decision for anyone."

...Coach Snyder has proven time and time again that he's one of the best coaches in the country at molding juco talent into elite-level FBS players...[he'll] try to do exactly that this upcoming season with three of the top juco players in the country... Nate Jackson, ...Jake Waters, ...and Devon Nash...

"[Dvonta is] so athletic that he goes out and plays press corner against our receivers and they can't get by him," Miller said. "He is a 4.4 40 guy. He has a motor and can hit." ..
Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Yeah, he is going to be a stud and he's right in our backyard. He loves EMAW too so we have a good chance.

95% positive that Joe Gordon had the most to do with us having a leg up with Derricott. I think he will be the one that builds the pipeline.

it sucks that it wasn't until we had 3 EMAWs there. the fact that we can't claim any recruit in the program makes me angry.

Joe Gordon probably just blew air into Dvonta's face with his towel until he gave in and said "OK, coach. I'll go to K-State!"

Miller becoming the head coach was probably a big thing too. If I am not mistaken the old HC was a Georgia guy so he probably had a SEC bias up his anus.

Beems a little over a month ago when KU and KSU were tied in Rivals' team rankings:

Quote
On a side note, how pissed are you guys that Weis and KU are dominating K-State in the '14 recruiting class so far (especially in the state of Kansas)?

Now KSU is ranked 39th, while Weis and KU are ranked 64th. Mizzou is at 42 fwiw.

Rob Cassidy ?@Cassidy_Rob 1m

Hutchinson (Kan.) CC cornerback Shatlle Fenteng will announce his decision at 9:00 CT tonight. Final group: K-State, Ole Miss and UGA.

I'd be floored if it wasn't UGA. Not much drama with this one
