Look, i know you guys have been waiting for it. Well here it is. The season unofficially starts tonight...Bud Shootout at Daytona. Will Jr. win from the pole?? Will Harvick make it 3 straight? Goin to be crazy. So when the cats are in commercial, flip over to Fox for some left turns.

Why when they talk about nascar do they always say the car numbers? Why not say the dude driving the car?

I mean, I know that all nascar drivers are essentially the same person and named either Bobby or Jeff, but it still confuses me...

easier, quicker. Plus when drivers switch numbers over the off season, less chance for rough ridin' up.

If thought this was an interesting question so I did a little googling. About 8 hits down I came across a site that makes castefootball look like the rainbow coalition. That aside, I was always under the belief that it was because they try to treat the cars as a team, rather than just a driver. Then again, I don't watch much nascar.

Wasn't aware we had a thread for this...

Kyle's just disgusting at Bristol right now. Last year, no one had ever done the trucks, Nationwide, and Sprint in one weekend, and he did it. Well, he did it again this weekend, minus the trucks.

Love how Dale is getting his groove back. Of course, as you know, I'm a Hendrick guy.

I figured you'd be around sometime.

Kyle Busch just wins races...curious to see how long he'll race 2 -3 times a weekend. He's still young with a bangin hot wife.

Sounds like Dale and Steve Letart(?) make a good combo...pretty cool to see him in the top 10 in points again.

Speaking of points...i'm still trying to figure out the point system. I think Gordon is like 19th...but i'm not sure how long it'll take for him to get up in the top 10. Seems like this system kills you on bad finishes.

Yeah, it's simpler to follow though...I think.

Points based on place makes sense to me. I haven't dug into how they give bonuses for laps lead, etc.

It seems like this system really, really puts a strong emphasis on keeping your car on the track. Wreck your call all of the time, and you have no shot at the chase.

Yeah, great race. Kinda wished Jr. would have pulled it off, just so his winless streak would get out of the news. I'm always glad to see Busch fail. Looking like Hendricks' crew chief swap has been a pretty good move.

Just realized it's a Saturday night race this weekend at Texas. Love night races, even at a 1.5 miler like Texas.

I automatically think that the race didn't really count if Kennseth wins it. I don't know why.
