sorry, can't remember any specific stories. talked to him a couple times on the phone and at camps and before and after games.
at courtside he was ridiculously calm (probably because he was always winning). off the court he'd take time to talk to you.
he knew how to assemble talent and get them to play hard and play defense. when they didn't have the most talent, as was the year when heights was a top 5 USA today team, they still played better as a team and played better defense winning the league.
the most personal thing i remember is that he knew i loved to go left and had his players force me right even though that was my dominant hand. at that point, even i didn't realize i preferred to go left.
i wish i would have been able to see him in practices. the only interaction i saw him with his players outside of a game setting was, like Daris, watching other teams from the stands at state/holiday tourneys.
