A lot of concerns with JHR would be resolved with a good strength/conditioning person that could make him clog up the paint like Colon.  Don't know if he'd be like a Cole Aldrich with a full set of teeth or anything, but there is upside to Robert's development.

Was under the impression the one we had was really good.  Do I need to rethink my position?
Check that--if there was good utilization of the strength/conditioning person, JHR could clog up the paint like Colon.  I'd be satisfied with that, and be happy if JHR developed his skills.

I think there is only so much weight JHR can put on. Comparisons to Colon (who weighed over 300#s in HS) is probably unreasonable.

Some of these super tall/lanky guys just don't gain weight.

I read an article on Shawn Bradley when I was in school.  Said that his NBA team had him drinking a 6,000 calorie shake 3 times a day on top of as many meals as they could shove down his throat.  Did that for his first year and he gained something like 7 pounds.

JHR would be better served working on his body control and defensive decisions in the post than trying to become Lu.  He has the base for a decently mobile big and there is more of a future in that for him that trying to be Lu.

Greenie does his job.  The coaches have to do theirs.

wtf did you people expect from JHR when we signed him and he was 6-11, 200 pounds? Who comes into college with a similar build and is better than JHR in two years? He's fine at what he does. So he looks awkard.  BFD.  As long has he rebounds and changes shots on defense (which he does), he's doing fine.

He could have used a redshirt, but that's an entirely different debate and doesn't mean he or the staff is doing a poor job with his development.

He hit a 3, a couple FTs and had no TOs last night, so I'm good with him for now.

Expecting someone to suck is no reason not to point out when they actually end up sucking.

Otherwise, you may as well shut down the football board now, because we'll have absolutely nothing to talk about for the foreseeable future.

JHR hate is low-hanging fruit, and sometimes, you just have to take the easy route.

My Irving bandwagon is a much harder sell, but I'm sticking to it until he's back up to ~25 min/game.

But the thing is, he doesn't suck.  He's our best offensive rebounder, best defensive rebounder, a very good shot blocker, doesn't turn over the ball much and doesn't shoot much (which is good because it's his biggest weakness, even though he shoots 47%).

You just think he sucks because he looks awkward, which means you're stupid.

He's rough ridin' 7 feet tall, I would hope he would have the highest reb% on the team. We need more offense, and he brings nothing. He's also not nearly as good defensively as he should be, and 18.7% isn't a stellar TO% mark. Granted, Kelly's is atrocious (26.5), so comparatively he looks decent there.

So because he's 7 feet tall, being the best on the team isn't good enough? Do you have any idea how Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) that sounds?

Who said it wasn't good enough? I'm fine with his rebounding.

What is JHR's favorite thing in the entire world?  Dribbling the basketball.  Loves it.  His absolute favorite thing.

Maybe he should lobby to play PC...Ralph Sampson????

regardless of whether he sucks or not, that f'ng rejected dunk was a goddman 7 point swing.  that sequence of events (rejected dunk, tech fouls, subsequent 3 pointer to close it to within 11) was/is a metaphor for the season.  "YES!...wait, wtf?  You have got to be kidding me...that didn't just happen...f*ck me"

these jhr haters are making me like him more and more.  i need to swing by gpc for a dose of "jhr is an nba player waiting to happen" to regain equilibrium.

Actually, that would be a "Frank sucks" post, because they can't understand why JHR isn't playing like an NBA center, and that makes them angry at Frank/JHR.  At least I guess that's what they would say.

Guys, we all know the real problem here.  The players who were most fun to hate quit the team, so unfortunately we're left to hate JHR, Sprads, Martavious etc.  Would we love to be hating Aspirilla right now?  Of course.  But he's gone.
