Cutting students in a State University, is far different than any private organization. Comparing them is wrong. Either way what I'm trying to say is-

Maybe it's just not as simple as "here Frank, here is 1.5mil a year." I would love that, but it doesn't appear to be that easy. Either that or everyone is right and Currie is just a blind idiot? We'll find out after our National Championship in April I guess.  :dunno:

That's the thing. By all accounts, he's not asking for anything near 1.5

the "ain't no money" argument is insultingly stupid.  however, if you want to adopt that premise, please explain how giving patterson a raise to 500k/yr before addressing martin's contract needs wasn't patently irresponsible.

I understand what you're saying dax so calm down. Sadly some people really take University athletics beyond the students themselves. But like always it'll fall second to the University itself.

When you actually understand the corporate structure of K-State athletics and its relationship to the university, we'll discuss this further.

Flip it- Kansas State University and its relationship to Athletics

I think you took the wrong basis out of my initial post, for really no reason?  :dunno:

See my post before sys,

It really doesn't matter though we'll find out if he is ours or not by the end of the season. I'm extremely worried Currie might not get it done. Maybe just trying to convince myself otherwise??

I love how these threads completely dissapear when there are more interesting things to talk about.

...like basketball, for instance.  This OU game couldn't get here fast enough.

I declared that Currie sucked a long time ago.  And I'm the best judge of EMAW charcter there is.

So we're probably mumped.  The end.

Will the melt down be bigger than it was when Huggins left when Martin leaves after this year? And will Currie hire Hill to "keep the recruits"?

Frank is going to end up looking like a victim while leaving for a much, much, better job.  Will be funny.

I'd love for these threads to dissapear as well.  Here's another simple way to make that happen, finalize the fracking contract.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

I can't wait to finally become a fan of a PAC-10 school when one of them hires Frank this offseason. It's gonna be a steal for my future favorite team as well because they're going to get him for like $1.4 Million plus incentives.

So where exactly is all this money Currie is supposed to use, coming from. . . ?

Simple: 80% cuts across the board in all other coaching salaries; divert the cash to pay Frank & Co.; Currie gets to hire his people to replace everyone who walks in other sports.  That's a win / win / win if I've ever seen one.

As a Pac 10 alum I can say with some certainty that Frank would be a bad fit out there.  He'd be forced to spend so much time in sensitivity training that he'd never get any coaching done.

If Currie wouldn't have overpayed for OB's, then Frank would have plenty of cash on his contract and this issue would be mute.

Here are some what-ifs...

What if John Currie could really give a shazbot! if this deal with Frank falls through?

I mean, he's a guy who came from prestigious Tennessee and could care less if Kstate shuns him.

Knowing that...how do you feel now knowing that Currie honestly believes that Frank will take what Kstate pays him?

If someone like Oregon offers Frank $2 million/year, how does he not leave K-State?
