QuoteFred Hoiberg suddenly has a big spot to fill on his bench after long-time assistant T.J. Otzelberger joined the Washington staff last week, and Doc Sadler could be the favorite to take it. "Keep an eye on Doc Sadler, who landed as Kansas' director of operations after head coaching stints at Nebraska and Texas-El Paso," Randy Peterson of the Des Moines Register wrote last week. "In eight head coaching seasons, his teams combined for a 149-107 record. He knows strategy." Then on Saturday, Jeff Goodman of CBSsports.com tweeted: "Don't be surprised if former Nebraska coach Doc Sadler lands at Iowa State on Fred Hoiberg's staff." Kansas coach Bill Self already has to fill the role of Joe Dooley, who replaced Andy Enfield at Florida Gulf Coast, and he's said he will hire from the outside to do so. If Sadler takes the job with the Cyclones, it'll be another opening on the KU staff. Such a move would not surprise Self, who told the Journal-World over the weekend of the Sadler situation: "Doc and Fred are close friends. It would not surprise me at all if they visited about a vacant assistant position."

Doc and the Mayor. Wow, ad banker and newspaper publisher and you have a small-town chamber of commerce board.

I think Doc's old man wisdom would hold Hoiberg back. I'd be disappointed if I was an ISU fan. (I also wouldn't want to hire Doc. Ha!)
Nice consolation prize.
Nice consolation prize..
Doc and The Mayor would be one of the greatest duos in the world to hang out with.

"Son. This is why we are wildcats. Hard work, pride, the heart of this country. And if that's not enough for you, you can just move to California with your punk friends."

If it were up to me, Wintz would be on a fan scholarship, full ride.
Did the mayor put a ring on it yet? We need a DOBO....
in the end, EMAW will always win.
