No, nothing more than everyone else.

I don't think the ETF has anything to do with iphone.  Cell phone companies are subsidizing more dollars of the phone's cost as high end smartphones become more mainstream (since they cost the cell companies more upfront when purchasing from OEMs).  They lose their ass on $200/$250 ETFs and it tears into their margins pretty good.

THIS. Sprint's been getting schlacked by ETFs and giving large discounts for new customers to come get expensive phones at a cheap price.  Ultimately, I believe Sprint is pretty cash poor and needs to generate more no matter if the iPhone comes or not. Just trying to cover the bases IMO
if you think sprint is cash poor you obviously don't know what cash poor is and haven't read their 10Q.

you realize that this huge 4G strategy they will be talking about publicly soon is freaking expensive as crap right? Maybe I should have specified that they aren't cash poor "now" but if they ant to do what they are wanting to do with their network then they need serious cash because it'll be extremely expensive. Their lightsquared deal will help, but that's assuming all of the odds and ends come to fruition.  IMO

My Sprint service absolutely sucks in my neighborhood.  Can't receive text/calls at home or outside. Sprint sucks.  I can't wait to get back to AT&T.  God only knows how many drunk texts/dials I miss out on now.  :shakesfist:

Anyone else having trouble accessing their alarm clock?  I have a droid incredible 2 and the past few days when i tap my clock to set it nothing pops up.  It sounds like they are supposedly working on a fix for this but I haven't heard anything more than that?  Anyone else having problems/hear any news  :dunno:

No, my phone just locks up overnight about once a week and prevents my alarm from going off so I wake up late.

Trying to decide between iPhone 5 and HTC's new phone (rumored to be the Vigor) coming out in October (Verizon). I have always been a HTC fan and really like Android, and I don't like that iPhone 5 won't be 4G (even though Manhattan Verizon isn't 4G yet).

Vigor rumored specs:

dual-core 1.5-GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 processor
Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread
4.3-inch screen at HD (720p) resolution, with pixel density of 320
HTC Sense 3.5
1 GB of RAM
8-megapixel primary camera
2-megapixel secondary camera
Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity
4G LTE

Samsung/Google are going to announce the Nexus Prime (all carriers) on Oct 11th, I'd take a look at that phone too.

Why isn't the iPhone going to be 4G? Does/should it matter?

The iPhone was late to the 3G game as well.  It then got a mid cycle refresh as the iPhone 3G and pissed off everyone who just bought the iPhone 3 non3G.  I bet they mid cycle this mofo and piss people off again.

it wouldnt matter to me because i have no need for broadband on my phone.  i don't see much practical use for it unless you tether your phone to your laptop.  a good 3G connection should be all the bandwidth you need on a phone.   i never used the 4g radio on my Evo when i had it.

not really sure if the iphone 5 will have a 4G radio in it or not.

that nexus prime is going to be a beast.

my guess is that the reason they might leave 4G off iphone 5 is because of the impact on battery life.

If like most people, you sign a two year contract, then it might matter. In a year and a half when 4g has better coverage, will you wish  your phone had it?

My bionic has 4G and as far as I can tell there's no way to turn it off and just use 3G.  I like the 4G.  Goes real fast.  I bought the extendo battery but haven't put it in yet.  The standard one won't last more than a day.

T-Y.

If the whole "owning a BBS" thing doesn't work out, you're more than qualified to work at the West Kellogg Verizon store.

Yeah, that's my main issue and I use my phone enough on broadband that I'd like to have 4G.  I'm not a big Apple guy, but I have an iPad 2 and like how it works so I'm interested in iPhone 5. But I also have an HTC Incredible and have always had HTC smartphones, so I wouldn't mind staying with HTC, especially with the specs that the Vigor (or whatever its called) looks to have.
