I think he answered the question of why he doesn't play when he fouled an 80% FT shooter off the ball with 15 seconds on the shot clock down two with more than a minute to go.

He's ridiculously stupid.

Look man, dumb guys on this team are a dime a dozen.   We have the LBBIQ team in major conference basketball.   They prove it all the time with their sloppy play, particularly in key opportunities . . . just when we need something good in a key situation, always count on this team of mental midgets to turn the ball over, toss some little lob pass to the middle of the floor, or commit a stupid foul.

This was absolutely the KEY play in this game.  there was actually like 40 seconds left in the game, off the ball, 20 foot from the basket Russel decides to foul an 80% free throw shooter that was ZERO threat to score.  We get a stop and we have a chance to tie or win.  We had a LOT of stops in the second half.  But instead, dude makes 2 ft to put them up 4 and the game is essentially over.

You don't get a more critical mistake in a game than that.

I thought the key play was when Gruds snatched a rebound, then ran out of bounds.

Would love Franks explanation as to why he felt the need to sub Nick in there.  He doesn't trust him to do anything, but he puts him in thee game there?  Talk about stupid.

I would agree with this...very disappointing to have Nick in after he sits for 3 straight games and plays 9 total minutes.  He was the last guard to get in and yet he's in there in crunch time making a typical Nick Russel bonehead play.  Guess Frank felt like he had the "hot hand" after going 1-1.

This. We are basically the Oklahoma State football equivalent of Phillips 66 men's hoops. IMO, if this team played smart at all, we could easily be 3-2, possibly 4-1.

Granted Russell should have had his hands down but that little Hughes guy was playing like Derek Fisher the way he was able to make slight contact look like impediment.

And jamar was a dumb f.ck a possession or two before picking up an offensive foul on a screen. 4 points today from our big 12 sixth man rs junior. So what nick played like nick. Jamar is the one who negatively affects the team most with his disappearing acts.

that was a bad call, dumbass.  it's also irrelevant.  good players have to be forgiven for occasional mistakes.  players that only make mistakes suck.

4 points all game is more than an "occasional mistake". And if you want to forgive Jamar for scoring less than he did last season (he was supposed to supplement Clemente's offense, remember?) and for the most part showing little improvement over last season then go ahead. Forgive Jake and Curt too. But, to me,  Jamar has yet to reach a level of play and then consistently stay there. Especially one that he's capable of. He continually (see, not occasionally) suffers through long lapses of terrible decision making, or just of general worthlessness.

In addition to that, at least twice a game finds himself a victim of one of these "bad calls". How many times do we see the guy get locked up with a post player while battling for position and then fall backwards to the ground only to have a foul called on him? How many times has he stupidly jumped over the back, reached-in, shoved out on a pick and been called for it? Right, he's junkyard. But theres a difference between actually learning how a game is being called and adjusting your game so that you can be physical without drawing attention to yourself compared with being overtly-obvious in your physical play. He's not much better than Wally in this regard.

And, really, its not that big of a deal. Its just Jamar being Jamar, I guess. You want to forgive him. I'd rather call him a dumbf*ck.

Are you a moron?  Southwell fouled out before the first media timeout, 15:40, the play I'm talking about happened with less than a minute left.  That's nearly 15 minutes of game time and 40 minutes of real time after Shane fouled out bro.
