I am sick of Frank
« on: January 22, 2011, 03:38:57 PM »
He is clueless right now on how to get this team to play well.  I am sick and tired of him making excuses that our guys are young.   Plays 12 freaking guys in the 1st half.  Irving being the 12th and final guy to see the court, which is a joke, since we need his minutes and what he gives to this team.

Then in the 2nd half he changes his stategy and Iriving is the 1st person off the bench.    WTF?   Seems like he just freaking wings it out there when making decisisons.

I don't give a crap how good Peterson and Myles are practicing...... its freaking ridiculous that Irving was not in our top 8 rotation going into this game

We don't rebound with a crap.  Wally had 34 boards in that 3 game stretch and Frank has him in some doghouse again.  JHR played good vs Mizzou but he did not do anything today.   Did not grab one defensive board.   Had 3 fouls and probably could have been called for more

56 points in a big 12 game.   4 losses and 60.8 pts a game in those losses.

Why?  He's right.  It didn't and hasn't translated into the game.  It's easy to be a practice hero, when you have to practice hard to see the court.  I'm sick of the practice hard mantra, it isn't middle school, play the best players.

I like how he whined about the turnovers, and then when Wyatt called out Doc for turning the ball over Frank stuttered a million excuses for him.  It's obvious that Frank has given up on this season and is grooming Spradling for next year.

i think he has a clue

my main evidence being that we have been running smooth offenses of late....ones that allow our seven footers to have the ball in their hands 25 ft away from the basket....or ones that are so flawless they dont even require our guards to pretend like they might actually think about passing to another spot on the floor.

i mean...lets face it gentlemen.  JHR just doesnt have the skill set to be effective on the low block.  our coaching staff understands for this team to be successful we need to allow our largest players to face the basket and make plays against inferior athleticism.  they saw in JHR the ability to smoothly drive to the basket from the FT line and effortlessly float the ball at the rim.  this was the light bulb moment.

56 pts and he acts like we just did not make shots and that was the big issue?

OMG.  Watching our offense today was painful.  Our movement in this new offense is a lot better but just seems like we never know what crazy combo of 5 players will be out there.     I was waiting for the Miles Peterson Southwell Victor and JHR combo in the 1st half today.

Pretty damn close.  What did Victor do to not see PT, isn't he another practice hero?

I loved it when he said Sprads "plays like a champ".

And I still love Frank. I'm going to blame this season on Dillards. I plan to boycott the place.

Can someone make a GIF of Spradler getting a wing-to-wing pass picked off, or getting his pocket picked for an uncontested layup, and then put "The People's Champ" on the bottom of it.

Frank is a complete trainwreck.  But, the Frankites have his back.   He has a pair of cowboy boots afterall.

Up 37-31 and we go scoreless for the next 5 minutes.

We score to make it aTm 46-45........... and then we score 3 pts in the next 8:15.

Those two stretches are basicly 2/3 of the 2nd half...... and we got 3 pts out of it.   Painful to watch

frank's going to run off russel and keep sprads.  that's all you need to know about where this ship is headed.  Iceberg right ahead.

I just don't like how he hasn't developed new set plays or an offense that works.  I know they said on TV they put in a new offense, but there aren't any plays that lead to open buckets like every good team gets a handful of every game.

I also don't like how we play up in everyone's face even if they're 25 feet from the basket.  For example, we'll put Spradling right up in Balbay's face at half court when the guy shoots probably 11% from anywhere behind the 3pt line.  I know its our "mantra" and it got Jay Bilas to like us alot and say we will play harder than anyone in the country, but it just doesn't make sense.

I'll admit it when I'm wrong, and I am fully prepared to go back to the "what kind of offense are we running" offense . . . I'd rather see this team play street ball at this juncture than watch them flounder around in Underwoods Hartman/Orr "run to the X on the floor" offense.

Would make for fantastic bbs'ing if this happens and the Cats win.
