Why do we look gassed 2 minutes into a game?
Not sure. I think it varies game to game, and was definitely true in Columbia. Playing hard is really hard to do and its one of the hallmarks of Frank's better teams (besides having 2 NBA players). This year that effort has been inconsistent and so has the team.
Why does Frank hate Irving? (not giving up on that crusade quite yet)
Don't know, but its clear Irving has struggled to earn his trust, or at least lost it at some point. He is one of the more in and out players on the team; 9 games he's played 20 or more minutes. 5 games at 15-19 minutes. 4 games of 5-14 minutes. Plus one DNP. He has good 3PT numbers, but has 10 games where he hasn't hit one, including 8 of the last 9.
What does Brad Underwood do?
It seems clear to me Underwood is Frank's closest coaching source of the staff. Yeah, all the guys do their scout, etc. but when you watch games the one coach Frank turns to for venting is Underwood. He's often turning and seemingly chewing him out, but its common for coaches to have a venting outlet, and Underwood is Franks.
When is the cut-off for Currie to scrutinize the return on Dalonte's salary/presence?
Interesting question. Clearly the fans standard is more 4/5 star kids, but that isn't happening. At the end of the day losing will force Frank/Currie to rethink having one of the highest paid assistants in all of college basketball. And depending on how loyal Frank is to Hill, he may go down with him if it doesn't work.
Just grasping at meltdowny straws here.
I was pretty meh on melting down for MU. I got mine in after OSU and CU and those two forced me to rethink what this team is, and I had little expectation of winning in Columbia. I tend not to get as upset after games where winning is unlikely, its the ones that you "should've won" that end up costing you in the big picture, and we already have two of those. That puts pressure on you to win several that aren't expected, we'll see if we do that. This is a lesson I learned well as a fan throughout Altman/Asbury/Wooly.
