My legs are pretty dead today.  That was a lot of basketball.  I can't imagine what the guys feel like that played from 9.  Of course, they sat out games.

Yeah, I'd like to have _FAN take out his EMAW hoops frustrations on designing the team uniforms.  When Gooch gets off his deathbed, he should post whether there's any requirements for this thing - colors, numbers, etc.

Strut 'n Cut!

So, I've decided I hate playing with short 40-somethings, because it's almost a guarantee that they will drive with their head down every time they get the ball, and never pass...ever.

Michi', are you one of these?

I realize that my lameness in reading this old thread will be outed, but this post certainly deserves a: "Were you playing with Sprads?" comment.

Tonight the ball was going out of bounds. A guy jumps out of bounds, turns around in midair to pass it to a teammate, sees one, and throws it at him. A guy from the other team tries to get in the way, it hits him in the head, and goes out of bounds. Everyone kind of laughs, and the first guy who jumped out of bounds to get it goes to retrieve it and take it out top (we don't inbound, just take it out top). Then the guy who got hit starts yelling "No way man, you don't get the ball for throwing it at my head" and grabs it from him.

I was really happy when everyone told him he was an idiot and gave it back to the other team. Usually in those situations, the baby wins. Not tonight, guys. Not tonight.

I don't mind this guy. Although is there is a type of white guy with all-white shoes and a skinny beard that says And 1 a lot and is pretty bad. But in general And 1 isn't that bad.

This is the type of And 1 guy I was referring to.  Usually looks like a Nick Wright type.

I had kind of the opposite argument the other day. I won't lie, I'm a rough ridin' hack out there so I have to get hammered before I call a foul. I took a 16 foot jump shot and an older unathletic guy kind of tapped me in the chest after I let the shot go during his closeout. His team got the rebound and he's like, "I fouled you. Your ball." I was like, "Um, that's not a foul. I'm not calling stuff like that." He tried to argue a bit but we just let them keep the ball. *I should NOTE: a couple possessions earlier he thought he fouled someone and quit playing - only problem was offense didn't call the foul and we got the rebound. It was a new guy that he thought he fouled, and he tried to PI the poor kid into calling the foul on him.

I think he just wants an easy out from playing defense.

Man I'm the same way, most fouls in pick up ball are unlikely to be called in an actual game.  I'll call one for the offense if I really smoke a guy otherwise call your own damn foul.  On the other end I'll call foul about once for every eight or nine times I get hit.  Getting tapped on the head while I'm attempting a put back isn't a foul.  I really like playing against guys that are physical because I know they won't be crybabies
