When Rivals last updated their rankings for that Class back in August. I'm sure there's a post dug deep in this thread memorializing this momentous event, it was exciting then, still good to see now, hope with KSU being the 1st to offer and FM's Miami connections, that might give us the inside track.

Seems like the place to go if you don't wanna play defense and just want to put up a lot of points. When I called a few of his games that was his game.

I lost track of Semi's recruiting a while ago but are we totally out of the picture for him?  If so, can we finally keep VO on the bench permanently?

No jtksu. VO is an "inspiration" to the team. @frankmartin  :dubious:

Not exactly right at the top of XRM's list though:

"One of the best shooters in the class of 2013 is Xavier Rathan-Mayes. The 6-foot-2 guard who is a native of Canada is now at Huntington (WV) Prep where he is working to make a transition to being more of a lead guard. Still the four-star prospect is at his best putting the ball in the basket.

Huntington Prep is one of the best teams in the country, and Rathan-Mayes is a big reason for that. A sniper from the outside, Rathan-Mayes says his focus this season has been to adjust to a new position.

“My game is coming along well,” said Rathan-Mayes. “I am just focusing on being more of a point guard. Me and Negus (Webster-Chan) have to run the point, so I am looking to get other guys involved and get them shots.”

When it comes to his recruitment, numerous high major programs have been continued to recruit him very heavily.

“So far this year UConn, Kentucky, Florida State, Arizona, Kansas, Illinois, and a few other schools have been the most active recruiting me,” said Rathan-Mayes."

ESPN and Scout both recently updated their rankings.

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/playerrankings/_/class/2013/order/true

http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=9&c=4&cfg=bb&pid=88&yr=2013

8,7. Walker
14. Freeman - Consistent 5*
17,44. Roberson - Fairly big discrepancy there, really no good explanation for that
28,37. Wainwright
40,50. Ojeleye
62(Scout). Rathan Meyes

Jordan Mickey and and Malik Price-Martin are prospects that appear on these lists that KSU has been mentioned with in the past, but I haven't seen enough recently to think we are actively recruiting them.

Vid of Freeman in action below, honestly doesn't show or say a whole lot, but, IMO, it is pretty cool vid.

Maybe the dominoes will fall our way for once.

Not much of a strategy I know, but it's all I got for now.

http://eye-on-college-basketball-recruiting.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/29884776/34640226

Quote
It’s hard enough for 7-foot-5 high school basketball players to become fluid enough to become legitimate factors on a consistent basis during games.

It’s even harder when said player has only been living in the United States for two years and recently had a tumor removed from his pituitary gland.

Those are the circumstances for Mamadou Ndiaye, a mammoth 2013 prospect from Brethren Christian (Calif.). He came over from Senegal two years ago, enrolling at Stoneridge Prep (Calif.) and obtaining a student visa. When that school couldn’t afford his aforementioned surgery, enough money was raised through charitable donations to cover two operations. A couple near Brethren Christian – more than 80 miles from Stoneridge – became Ndiaye’s legal guardians.

Most players Ndiaye’s size are awkward and can’t move well on the basketball court, but as the video below demonstrates, he has some skills. Aside from not winning the opening tip (no clue how someone 7-foot-5 doesn’t win a jump ball), he is able to drop-step and finish, and knows how to get position inside against smaller players. His touch from the free-throw line also was decent, and he clearly has pretty good hands.

Expect to hear plenty more about Ndiaye in the coming months.

UPDATE: Talked to a few people about Ndiaye. The competition he faces in Brethren's league is poor, and includes some co-ed teams. He's not likely to go to a different school, though, as his host family has kids that go to Brethren and Ndiaye seems loyal to them. In terms of recruiting, he has been on Santa Clara's campus, but it's still quiet for now. That will change soon.

I like how they clarified that the other players were smaller than him.

At least Semi is back to listing the KSU offer now:

"Ojeyele, who plays AAU basketball for the MOKAN Spiece Elite, is the younger brother of Kansas State senior Victor Ojeleye.  He reports having offers from a number of schools, including Missouri, Wisconsin, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Butler, Stanford, Nebraska, and Kansas State."

FWIW, Haith was in Ottawa Tues night to watch Semi drop 50 against Spring Hill.
