Tubed Wildcat Creek when it flooded, it was hard to find a place on the bank where you didn't end up getting off the tube in tree branches.  It was definitely a WAY different look of MHK.
I agree. It is a way different look. :)

There is no way you could tube the creek without the flooding. There are quite a few areas with no current.

I have not kayaked, but my son and I spent a week in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (Minnesota/Canada border lakes) in July. Good times.

Kayaks are the best.  The Kaw runs along the JoCo line, and there are public ramps in DeSoto and Cedar Creek in Olathe.  You can put in there and kayak to the Edwardsville boat ramp.  Cedar Creek to Edwardsville is 19mi, I kayaked that in 89 minutes when the Kaw was running bank full, almost flood stage.  It was totally awesome.

Logistics are not too bad, you need to drop a vehicle capable of carrying the kayak at the Edwardsville ramp, and then go to an upstream ramp with your boat and float to Edwardsville.  I carry mine on my rooftop rack on my car.  I drove 1500 mi each way to the gulf coast so I could kayak in the ocean.  Never had any concerns about the kayak blowing off the car.

His post does not mention 2 people michigancat, maybe you need to reread it.

Infact it was entirely comprised of "I"

Logically you could probably assume 2 people, but I'm asking for clarification. I mean he specifically used carry instead of drive to explain how he moved the boat upstream

Well, it's hard to drive back to the put-in ramp when you leave a vehicle at the take-out ramp unless you have a second person.  It's caused friction with Mrs. Deputy Dawg because she doesn't like to do the driving necessary to make the river kayak trip possible.

I went with my wife and kids in Lake Dillon on Summit County Colorado a couple weeks ago.  It was pretty windy that morning, so it wasn't as fun as it could have been.  I like a real glassy, still, day.
