Love the Traeger. Great for noobs who don't want to have to jack with fire maintenance.

Did you consider any others before you bought it?

Not really. Yoder and Traeger are equally expensive. I have actually been rocking a stand up propane one for a little while. It's volume is a lot more but it is VERY wind sensitive.

Like gooch said, traegar is easy, you can do a lot with it.  Biggest drawback to me for grilling is the grill doesn't get very hot.  Biggest drawback for me for smoking is I don't think you get a really thick smoke flavor, which I like.  Good, reliable, versatile product tho.

I've heard good things about Green Mountain Grills.

I own this one (minus the timer)

Best of both worlds. Just a great grill. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Got the same one this summer, and I agree, absolutely love it.  And the built-in charcoal bins/separators and lid rest are wonderful additions.
