are those white kneepad things common? I don't recall seeing them before, but of course I've never been this enamored of knees before either.

I think I've seen our basketball players wear the elbow HexPads...my guess is they are made by this company: http://www.mcdavidusa.com/protection/pads

 :dunno:

Yes, they are probably McDavid knee sleeves, usually worn by basketball players.

Daniel's planting is a thing of beauty. I hope we get to watch it over and over and over for the next three seasons straight.

Has anyone ever seen someone plant their foot and go like this?  Sproles maybe?

Sproles, MAYBE (he had other beautiful qualities). As far as planting + quickness, I was similarly impressed when I saw Frank Murphy play for the first time. But now after having a body of work to refer to for both, Daniel has Murphy beat by a step or two.

Also, to the normally very TSC Mr. Beems - SHAME on you for wishing harm to our Daniel!  :shakesfist:
I'm in it purely for the entertainment value.

Guise, does anyone else remember the time that Frank Murphy completely hurdled a defender without breaking his stride. I think it was against some noncon school. I mean, what a freakandstud...

funny story about frank murphy: completely hyperventilated on his first kickoff return as a cat, totally should have been a touchdown.

I mean, do you remember how hyped you were at this time in 1998? I was so hyped.

Murphy, Bishop, Grogan, David Allen. Just awesomeness wherever you cared to look.

Whoops, did I put Steve Grogan in that list? I think he was with the Patriots and not the WildWildcats at that particular juncture in time.

I don't wish injury on anyone.  I'm simply commenting on a picture where it appears as though Sams is exposing himself to a potential nasty injury.  People had the same concerns with RGIII.

This is a kid you're talking about.  I know KU and K-State are rivals, but for crying out loud, this is beneath even you, OregonSmock.

Silly, he had ball bearings installed in his knees this summer.  That is why he missed practice and was on crutches.  He can really swivel those sumbitches now.

So simply mentioning the possibility of injury is a sin?  Sams is going to hurt himself if he keeps pulling moves like that.  He needs to talk to Klein and get some tips on how to protect himself.

Isn't this the play when Sams was bum rushed by about 4 players right at the snap of the ball and then managed to spin away and throw the ball out of bounds?

would have to check but i think its a 5 yd keeper that was close to being initially stopped and he spun forward for 3 more yds

Yeah it's that.
